Chapter 38

Sebastian''s face darkened on the other end of the line. "Natalie, are you that eager to divorce me?"

Natalie couldn''t hide the excitement in her voice. "Weren''t you the one who wanted it? It''s Monday. If you''re ready, I can get up right now."

"Where did you put my silver tie?" he asked, his voiceced with irritation.

Natalie blinked. She checked the caller ID again. It was definitely Sebastian. "Are you sick? You''re calling your ex-wife to ask about a tie? Go ask your girlfriend. Joanna is always in your room; I''m sure she knows. Don''t call me again unless it''s about the divorce." She hung up, annoyed at having her sleep disturbed.

She tossed the phone aside and tried to go back to sleep, but it rang again. Frustrated, she snatched it up without looking at the number. Assuming it was Sebastian, she answered sharply, "What do you want now?"

A low, amused chuckle came from the other end. It was Matthew Monroe. "Natalie, is everything alright? Did I call too early?" His voice was a pleasant baritone, and Natalie''s irritation instantly melted away.

Realizing it was the mogul, she shot up in bed, her voice turning sweet. "Mr. Monroe! No, not at all! What can I do for you?"

"Right, you mentionedst night that you speak severalnguages. Do you happen to speak Ardonian? I need a trantor for a meeting tomorrow with a partner from Ardonia." His voice was deep and steady, and Natalie felt a thrill of excitement. Even his voice sounded like money.

She was more than happy to help. In herst life, she had only met Matthew a few times. This time, they had been set up on a date. It was all thanks to her grandfather. “Yes, yes, of course! My Ardonian is excellent. What time is the event?"

"Six o''clock. I can pick you up."

"No, that''s not necessary," she said quickly. "Just send me the address. I''ll be there on time."

"Alright, Natalie. I''ll see you at the entrance then."

After hanging up, she received a text with the address. She saved it, then got up for her morning workout. The incident a few years ago when she''d saved Sebastian had taken a toll on her body, and she had only recently fully recovered. After an hour of exercise, she felt refreshed and energized.

When she went downstairs, the house was still quiet. The butler, Lucien, smiled at her. "Good morning, Miss. Breakfast is ready, but Ms. Lopez and the Master are not up yet."

"I''m here, I''m here!" her grandfather called out, jogging out of his room in high spirits.

Natalie went to help him. “Grandpa, slow down."

"Aha! Why are you still here, girl? Shouldn''t you be on a date?"

Natalie was stunned. "Who would I be on a date with this early in the morning?"

Mr. Sanders Sr.''s sly eyes widened. "Matthew, of course!"

It was clear her grandfather had a type. But to avoid Sebastian this time around, she was willing to give it a try. Maybe Matthew was the one who had saved her all those ye years ago. A thrill shot through her "Grandpa, we already made ns to meet this afternoon. I have a dateter today."

"That''s my girl! You have to be assertive with a man you like." He looked at her

with an expression that said, My granddaughter has finally seen the light.

"Ha! Grandpa, the most assertive I ever get is when I start feeling like all your money is mine."

Mr. Sanders Sr. red at her. "You ungrateful rascal! I''m still alive, you know Why must you be so tant with your ambition? Haven''t already given you all my money?"
