It wasn''t just their reputations that were ruined; hers was too.
And most importantly, their status and position hadn''t been affected at all, while she was the only one who had lost everything!
The Woods family was nowpletely bankrupt. She couldn''t go back, and even if she could, she wouldn''t dare.
She was the one with the most tragic, pitiful oue.
Her life used to be so perfect, a life of luxury where she could have anything she wanted. But now...
Thinking about it, Sandra couldn''t hold back her tears.
She refused to believe this was a mess of her own making. It was their fault. Everything had been fine before they came along.
"Sandra, things aren''t even resolved yet, and you''re already trying to leave? Don''t you think you''re being a little naive?"
Seeing her act as if she had nothing to do with it, Lionel felt a surge of irritation.
"I''m telling you, until this is all over, you''re not going anywhere. You will stay right here in this house!"
Suddenly, an idea came to him, and a dark glint appeared in his eyes.
"Of course, if you don''t want to stay here, that''s fine too. Your parents found out you were back and have been calling me constantly, wanting to take you home."
"What?"
She hadn''t had her phone while Quennel held her captive, so she had no idea what was happening with her parents.
She never imagined they would call Lionel, asking for her toe back.
And the idea of them wanting her back wasughable.
They just wanted to drag her home and berate her for the disgraceful things she''d done.
If they really took her back... she''d be better off staying here with Lionel.
At least Lionel was too preupied with his Hannah problems to bother her, so she might get some peace.
"I don''t want to see them. I have nothing to say to them," Sandra said, trying to sound calm.
Seeing her reaction, Lionel knew exactly what she was afraid of.
"Sandra, if you say anything else that displeases me, I might just consider sending you back. They are your parents, after all. You''vee back to the country you should at least go see them, don''t you think?"
With that, Lionel went upstairs, giving a subtle look to a nearby staff member,
signaling them to escort Sandra to her room.
A maid approached and gestured for Sandra to go upstairs.
Sandra mmed her fist into the
sofa in
her
with resentment
faja frustration, bes
Lionel''s retreating back.
Back in her room, Sandra stood by the window, gazing at the scenery outside as a
storm of emotions churned within her.
For some reason, at that moment, memories of her past with Lionel began to surface.
"This is insane. Why am I thinking
a hand and ret
about this stuff now of all times?
She raised
hit her own
head, forcing herself to stop.
That evening, Lionel was summoned to the family estate for dinner by his mother.
In the dining room, Mary, Quennel, and his grandmother were already seated, waiting for him.
Seeing the setup, Lionel walked over with a grim expression.
He had expected his mother to start berating him the moment he sat down.
But they ate half the meal inplete silence.
The strange atmosphere filled Lionel with unease.
"How has Hannah beentely?"
After dinner, his grandmother asked from the sofa.
"She seemed to have lost more weight when I saw herst. Is she not eating well at
home, or is work too stressful?"
