"Fine, then. Go ahead. Tell me what you came to say today. Try to be quick and
concise. This ce has a one-hour seating limit. Once our hour is up, we have to leave, and I won''t be interested in listening to you anymore."
Hannah finished with a smile and looked at him, waiting.
When Lionel heard about the one-hour time limit, he became even more certain that Hannah was doing this on purpose.
She must have specifically chosen this crowded, time-restricted restaurant right after he told her staff he wanted to see her.
It wasn''t, as she imed, booked yesterday. But arguing about it now was pointless.
Seeing his stunned expression, Sandra hastily spoke up.
"I''ll go first. I only have one thing to say. About that... you know, that thing. It was Quennel. Not him. I was lying to you that day."
Sandra was afraid that if she didn''t speak up quickly, Lionel would waste all their time with his pointless rambling, and then she would get med when nothing was said.
She had to get her one sentence out first.
With so many people around, they couldn''t speak explicitly about the incident, but everyone at the table knew what she was referring to, so she kept it vague.
But to her dismay, Hannah, whether intentionally or not, just looked at her with a bewildered expression and tilted her head.
"What are you talking about? What ''this thing'' and ''that thing''? I can''t understand a word you''re saying. Can you please be more specie about what you''re trying to tell me? This this'' and ''that'' nonsense is impossible to follow."
Samuel immediately chimed in. "I have no idea what you two are on about. If you want to y charades with us, you can forget it. Stop wasting our time, okay?"
Hearing the siblings'' words, Sandra felt a surge of fury.
She opened her mouth, exasperated. "The incident the other day! You know what I''m talking about, so why are you making me spell it out?"
Sandra took a deep breath, telling herself repeatedly that things were different now. She had to choose her words carefully and couldn''t be so headstrong. After all, Hannah now had powerful people backing her she wasn''t the one fighter she used to be.
"Fine. I''ll say it again. The one who did that to me was Quennel, not Lionel. was scared that day. I was afraid you wouldn''t believe me if I named Quennel, so said it was Lionel."
After she spoke, Hannah and Samuel just stared at her in silence.
They looked as if they genuinely had no idea what she was talking about.
Seeing Hannah''s feigned confusion, Sandra was about to lose it. Did they really
want her to scream hysterically about the kidnapping?
They might have no shame, but she still had some!
"Lionel, has she been through some sort of trauma? She can''t even speak properly anymore."
