Chapter 540

Quennel stood nearby with his arms crossed, a contemptuous look in his eyes as he watched the frantic and agitated Lionel. He let out a derisiveugh.

"If you really can''t find any evidence, you could always fabricate some to frame me. Who knows, maybe Hannah will choose to believe you for the sake of the three years you spent together."

"As for me, your dear brother, thest thing I want is for you two to live the rest of your lives as strangers. After all, if this blows up, it''ll be bad for the Rosenberg family and the Temple family. I''m willing to sacrifice myself for your sake."

Lionel''s eyes burned with even greater fury at his words. He red at the man before him, his teeth clenched.

"You''re quite skilled, Quennel. You managed to hold someone here for days without leaving a single trace."

"I really underestimated you. I''m just curious, are your subordinates truly that loyal to you?"

Faced with Lionel''s thinly veiled threat, Quennel''s expression didn''t change in the slightest. He just shrugged helplessly.

"Shall I gather everyone in the household, including my personal assistant and bodyguards, and let you interrogate them?"

Lionel was stunned, pletely blindsided by Quennel''s offer.

After a moment of silence, he finally said, "Fine. Since you''ve offered, how could I refuse?"

Though the chances of getting any information were slim, he thought that if even one or two of them had their own agenda, he might actually learn something.

True to his word, Quennel magnanimously summoned the staff and had them wait in the study to be questioned.

Lionel had them wait in the hallway, calling them in one by one.

It was dark by the time he had finished questioning everyone.

At the dinner table, Quennel watched him walk over, looking dejected and disheartened, and take a seat.

He asked, "So? Did you get anything out of them? Or did you manage to bribe a few to conspire with you to frame me?"

Lionel slowly lifted his gaze, giving Quennel a meaningful look but saying nothing.

"Ah, it seems you''ve found someone to coordinate stories with. Congrattions. Now Hannah will surely believe you."

Although he''d had little contact with Quennel over the past three years, Lionel was more or less aware of his personal feelings for Hannah.

Whenever Hannah was involved, Quennel would unconditionally side with her, his tone often bing flippant and arrogant.

He just never imagined Quennel would truly do anything for her sake.

"Quennel, Hannah treats you very well. She would never believe you''d do something like this. But you''ve maintained such a perfect facade in front of her if she were to find out the truth one day, do you think she would still trust you?"

Lionel''s words wereced with a heavy threat, his eyes filled with disgust as he stared at Quennel.

    He continued, "Wouldn''t she feel

betrayed? Quennel, if you confess now, I can put in a good word for you with Hannah and help you maintain your image as a family member

"Otherwise, when I do find evidence, I will ruthlessly expose your hypocrisy to her. When Hannah finds out your true colors, she might cut ties with youpletely. You''d better think this through!"
