Chapter 524

Sandra tried to say something more, but he had already left without a backward nce.

She couldn''t help but scream after him, "Lionel, is this really how it has to be between us? Can''t you see my injuries? I suffered all this for you! Do you have any idea what I went through in that cell? Why can''t you just think about me for once?"

Her anguished cry made Lionel stop in his tracks. He stood there, his hands clenched into tight fists.

Of course he had seen Sandra''s wounds.

They were horrifying, some so deep that even after being bandaged, blood was still seeping through. This level of damage - he hadn''t known it was even possible to survive.

But after everything that had happened, he knew he couldn''t get entangled with Sandra again.

He had initially felt indebted to her and wanted to make it up to her. That, bined with the misunderstanding before their wedding, had caused his feelings to stray, and the two had developed an ambiguous rtionship.

It was because of that rtionship that he had neglected and misunderstood Hannah time and time again.

Now that all the misunderstandings were cleared up, he couldn''t keep making the same mistake.

Seeing Lionel stop, Sandra thought she had a chance.

She pushed through the pain, her bandaged body trembling as she slowly stood up and staggered towards him.

With a shaky hand, Sandra reached out and grabbed Lionel''s. "Lionel, I know you''re hurting. I know you want to fix things with Hannah. I understand all of it."

"I also know you want Hannah to see that Quennel did this to me, to understand that he''s vicious. But we don''t have to rush."

"We can take our time. Let me recover, and promise I''ll tell her everything I''ll do whatever you say. After I''ve said my piece, I''ll leave and never bother you and Hannah again I''m just begging you, please let me heal. Can you do that?"

As she spoke, Sandra started to cry, her sobs wracking her body. Her legs gave out,

and she sank to her knees, clutching his pants and weeping against his leg.

In the past, this would have undoubtedly melted Lionel''s heart, and he would have agreed. After all, she was terribly injured. But things were different now. He couldn''t let Sandra manipte him anymore.

Coldly, Lionel bent down and pried her fingers from his leg. He stared at her with a grim expression and said through gritted teeth,

"If you dy this any longer, I will personally send you back to that cell. You should know that if I have the power to get you out, I also have the power to put you back. This afternoon, you areing with me to see Hannah, and you will tell her everything that happened to you in that cell. Do you understand? If you don''t cooperate, I will drag you back there right now."

With that, Lionel left the room, leaving Sandra kneeling alone on the floor.

Tears streamed down Sandra''s face, hitting the floor one after another Her fingers slowly curled into tight fists and her expression twisted into a re of pure hatred as she stared at the empty doorway.
