Samuel gave him a skeptical look, his eyes darting from Lionel''s face to the earbud he was offering.
After a moment''s hesitation, he took it and put it in his ear.
As the recording yed, Samuel''s brow gradually furrowed, and his suspicious gaze fixed on Lionel.
Lionel watched his reaction without a word, waiting.
A few minutester, Samuel took the earbud out and handed it back.
"What''s the point of this?" he asked.
"The person speaking is Sandra."
Samuel''s eyebrow twitched.
Although he hadn''t had much contact with Sandra, he knew enough about her. He had suspected the voice belonged to her from the moment he started listening.
"And? What are you trying to say?"
Samuel''s brow tightened, his expression growing darker as he stared at Lionel. Lionel was confused by Samuel''s reaction; it wasn''t what he had expected at all. Did he y the wrong recording by mistake?
He doubtfully picked up his phone and listened again. It was definitely Sandra''s voice.
"Samuel, did you not understand what she was saying?"
Samuel couldn''t help but roll his eyes. He crossed his arms, his face a mask of arrogant disdain.
"That''s why I''m asking you. What''s your point? I understood it perfectly, and I know it''s Sandra."
Seeing Samuel''s reaction, Lionel grew even more bewildered.
"Lionel, are you trying to brag to Hannah that pping someone for her yesterday was nothing? That you''ve done far more
earth-shattering things for sandra?
Compared to the p, the things Sandra had described were on apletely different level.
Just a p.
Yesterday he''d thought Lionel had finally changed, that he was taking Hannah''s side. But it turned out that gesture was trivial inparison, a minor event het even worth. mentioning.
And it had only resulted in Hannah''s name being dragged through the mud, making her the subject of malicious rumors.
"That''s not what I meant!"
Lionel finally understood. Samuel hadpletely misinterpreted the purpose of the recording.
"Isn''t it?"
He raised a skeptical eyebrow, tilting his head with a look of pure contempt.
"Isn''t that why you yed this for me? To show off how you once made someone go bankrupt, shut down their shop, and cklisted a family all for your mistress? If that''s not it, then have no idea what you''re trying to aplish.
"I''m not crazy! Why would I brag about that to you?"
Lionel rubbed his forehead, a headacheing on. "If Hannah were here," he muttered, “she would''ve understood what this recording really means."
Samuel sighed dramatically, sneakily cing his own earbud next to his phone''s microphone. Seeing the recording app was still running, he feigned nonchnce.
"Lionel, if you have something to say, just say it. Stop ying games with me. I don''t have the time or patience for this."
“Besides, I''m not Hannah. What''s the point of ying guessing games with me? Are you expecting me to reenact this with someone for her viewing pleasure?”
