Hearing Lionel''s voice, Hannah finally stopped in her tracks and turned around, as if noticing him for the first time.
She looked him up and down, then sneered coldly. "Like mother, like son indeed. You''re exactly like your mother—barging into my house without even bothering to knock. What do you both think this ce is? Your own backyard?"
Lionel opened his mouth to exin, but she cut him off, her tone dripping with sarcasm.
"Your mother did the same thing before, just waltzing into my home as she pleased. And now you''re doing it too. Neither of you has any respect for me or my family. I don''t care what you have to say."
Hannah pointed sharply toward the door. "Just get out of my house right now. If you don''t leave immediately, I''ll call security and have you thrown out. Don''t think I won''t do it—I wasn''t afraid to have your mother removed, let alone you."
Lionel knew Hannah disliked him, but he hadn''t expected her contempt to run this deep. He had onlye to the Temple residence to see her, and now he was being driven out like this.
"Hannah, I know I failed to bring Kiron back from Cyprus, and that was my mistake. But I''ve also uncovered something important."
Lionel quickly took out his phone, pulled up the information, and handed it to her.
"About the drugging incident back then—there''s a lead now. I was wrong to use you without investigating properly back then. I apologize. Please take a look at this." Hannah nced at it but said nothing, instead turning to look at Samuel.
Samuel walked over and studied the screen for a moment before asking calmly, "What can a few photos prove? What do they actually exin?"
Lionel exined, "They show that Quennel was obsessed with you, that he wanted you for himself that''s why he did it. I warned you before to stay away from him, that he might have ulterior motives. Looks like I was right. Because of what h? did back th?n, misunderstood you, neglected you, and treated you poorly. I''m formally apologizing to you."
Samuel interjected, his voiceced with disdain. "Look at him-he never respected you, never saw you as an equal and even now, he still talks, down to you, still mes you for everything. People like him are just exhausting. He could''ve spoken calmly, but no-he had to go all threatening and aggressive."
Samuel was visibly irritated by the condescending, usatory tone in Lionel''s words.
Hannah let out a light, humorless
have no choice but to file for divorce in court."
Lionel''s brows furrowed tightly, confusion and disbelief written across his face.
He didn''t understand. The truth was right in front of them, so why was Hannah saying things like this?
Did this whole matter not mean anything to her?
"Hannah, the person who drugged the drink before our wedding was Quennel Rosenberg. He meant for you to go to his room that night, but you identally walked into mine instead. That''s how all of this happened."
Lionel kept his voice steady, exining carefully. "I know I was wrong back then—I used you without investigating properly. I take full responsibility for that."
