Chapter 410

Lionel flipped to thest page. Staring at the space next to her signature and official stamp, he fell into deep thought. A month ago, when Hannah had taken the signed papers from him, had she felt as tormented as he did now?

A month wasn''t long, but it wasn''t short either. He couldn''t even recall what he had said to Sandra back then. He had just foolishly ordered someone to draw up the papers and signed them right in front of her.

Hannah had called his move—using their marriage to appease another woman— pathetic. At the time, he hadn''t cared, thinking that as long as it made Sandra happy, anything was fair game.

He had treated their marriage like a joke, a toy to be given away to amuse someone else. He should have known then that it woulde to this.

As Lionel thought about it, his heart clenched painfully. He took a deep breath and picked up a pen from the side.

If he signed his name today, they would go to City Hall tomorrow, plete the process, and after the cooling-off period, they would no longer be husband and wife.

Hannah would get what she wanted, and he would lose the one thing he now desperately wanted to hold onto.

As the tip of the pen hovered over the signature line, he hesitated again.

He didn''t want to divorce Hannah. He wanted to fix things, to start over.

He finally saw everything clearly now. If he tried to make amends, to atone for his past mistakes, would Hannah forgive him?

At that thought, he tore the divorce papers to shreds and tossed them into the trash.

He refused to let their marriage end like this. He would make it up to her. He would show Hannah that he knew he was wrong, and he would earn her forgiveness.

Meanwhile, in another part of the city.

Mary had epted the divorce papers from Hannah in front of everyone earlier that day.

Although no one said anything to her face, she could tell from their looks that they wereughing at her. The scandal that had once haunted her family was now public knowledge, and everyone was talking about it.

Walking into the office today, she felt as if all eyes were on her, everyone whispering and mocking her behind her back.

In the past, no one would have dared to even look at her that way, let alone gossip. And now, it hade to this. It was all Hannah''s fault!

    That damned woman!

She should have been grateful to be a Rosenberg, but instead, she was ungrateful enough to stir up all this trouble.

She may be a Temple now, but she was still a Rosenberg. Didn''t she have any sense of duty to protect the family''s reputation?

If this was how she wanted to y, then she wouldn''t hold back either!

After finishing her work, Mary set off for the Temple family estate.

In the grand hall of the Temple mansion.

Upon her arrival, Mary learned that Hannah was not home. She and Samuel were both working at Yves''spany.

"Aren''t they part of the Temple family? Why aren''t they working at the Temple Corporation? Why work for someone else?" Mary asked, looking at Mrs. Temple Sr.

"That boy Samuelcks discipline and experience. He happens to be good friends with the Lancaster boy, so we sent him to theirpany for some training. Once he''s ready he''lle back to tak over. That''s how we do things in the Temple family. The capable ones work here; the

ones who aren''t go out and get a job."

Mrs. Temple Sr. was not surprised by Mary''s sudden visit.

With all the recent drama, she knew this wasing. Although her granddaughter had grown up without parents, and she herself hadn''t seen her in years and couldn''t interfere too much, she knew what was happening.
