Hannah didn''t answer, just raised an eyebrow and smiled at him.
Her smile sent a chill down Lionel''s spine.
"What''s the matter, Mr. Rosenberg? Are you not going to think about what happened? Or do you already know who did it and you''re just covering for them?" When Lionel remained silent, Hannah couldn''t resist a few taunts.
Her words made even the Temple siblings look over.
They had expected Hannah to settle scores with them first, but instead, she went straight for Lionel.
Compared to what Lionel was being used of, their own scheming seemed trivial. The knot of anxiety in their stomachs loosened, and they settled in to watch the drama unfold, curious to see what Lionel would do next.
"Are you saying the drive you gave me was originally fine?" Lionel asked, a hint of disbelief in his voice.
But Hannahpletely ignored his question, calmly eating her food as if the matter had nothing to do with her.
"Hannah!"
"Hey, who are you yelling at!"
At Lionel''s sudden outburst, Samuel shot to his feet, pointing a finger at him and shouting without hesitation.
"Are you deaf, or just pretending to be? Hannah just made it perfectly clear. Why do you keep asking? Is there something wrong with your head? Can''t you use that rusty brain of yours for once?"
Samuel tapped his own temple and continued the verbal assault. "Why would we
give you a faulty USB drive? Was it because she''s still hung up on you and wanted
an excuse for you to visit again?"
"Or was she just bored and et
to humiliate you? Or maybe she
couldn''t bear for you to know the
truth because you''d break up with Sandra?
Samuel was disgusted by his own sarcastic suggestions.
He sat back down, frowning.
"I can''t believe you had to deal with this moron for three years. It must have been torture."
After their recent encounters,
Samuel felt more and more sorry for
her.
Three whole years with an idiot
like this! How on earth did she stand
it? s?novels
The Temple siblings, who had been whispering to each other, finally spoke up. Gary was the one to venture ament.
"Mr. Rosenberg, did anyone else handle the USB drive at the time? Could it have been that person?"
"My assistant retrieved the footage for me," Lionel said. "But he would have no reason to do something like that."
"Pfft-"
Gloria, the supposed outsider, couldn''t help but let out augh.
Herugh drew everyone''s attention.
"Gloria, this has nothing to do with you! What are youughing at!" Gary yelled, annoyed.
She was still bitter about how he and Cherry had abandoned her during her visit the other day.
"What''s wrong with meughing?
Everyone knows Owen has feelings for Sandra! That''s why he''s always
pulling tricks behind the scenes
must have seen that the footage was bad for Sandra and destroyed it himself!"
After Gloria''s outburst, a dead silence fell over the room. Everyone, except for
Hannah, instinctively turned to look at Lionel.
