Chapter 362

While the fact that Hannah and Lionel were getting divorced had been an open secret for the past few days, the details had been murky.

At first, everyone assumed Hannah had flown off the handle after finding out about Lionel''s affair, shing out in a way that disregarded the Rosenberg family''s reputation.

They had nned to lecture her, to remind her that marrying into the Rosenberg family wasn''t a lifetime guarantee of security and that if she angered them, Lionel wouldn''t hesitate to divorce her.

They all thought her threats of divorce were just an empty tantrum.

But who could have imagined that the first person to bring up divorce was Lionel himself, and for such a reason...

Now, a tense silence filled the grand hall as everyone stared at Lionel with strange expressions.

Truth be told, none of them had much affection for this long-lost Rosenberg. His immense capability meant he would be taking a piece of the pie that they considered theirs.

They had always seen him as cold and ruthless, but they never thought he would be the type to abandon the wife who stood by him for a mistress.

Someone in the crowd finally spoke up.

"Lionel, I don''t mean to lecture you as an elder, but look at what you''ve done. It''s not right. How could you use divorce papers to cate a mistress?"

“Exactly. And Hannah has been good to you. She worked to support you through school. She was the wife who stood by you through thick and thin. You can''t just do this to her."

"Don''t bother," Hannah interrupted. She didn''t know what these people''s motives were for suddenly defending her, but she was determined to divorce Lionel, and no amount of persuasion would change her mind.

"Forget the wife through thick and thin'' speech. Before me, Sandra was the one who funded his education, helped him start his business with capital and connections. If anyone fits that description, it''s her."

Although Sandra''s mother had already revealed this information, not everyone present had beard the. full story. Hannah''s words were met with a series of gasps and sharp

    intakes of breath.

    "Is, is that true...?"

"In terms of who helped him more, the Woods family certainly has a stronger im."

"Yes, and they were engaged, weren''t they? Marrying Sandra would have been the perfect way to repay his debt."

"That''s right. Why didn''t he marry into the Woods family? How did it end up being Hannah?"

Hearing someone bring this up, Hannah stated inly, "The day before the wedding, I was drugged stumbled into the wrong room in a daze rionel knew he was getting married to Sandra the next day, but he didn''t send me away."

In truth, she knew fromter events that Lionel had also been drugged. Otherwise, he would have found a way to get her out of there.

    "I was drugged too!"

Lionel, who had been silent until now, finally spoke, his voice tight with anger. "I didn''t even know it was you who came in!"

When he had woken up to find Hannah beside him, he had felt a strange sense of joy. He had feelings for her, after all, but he couldn''t go against his family''s wishes.

That joy was quickly reced by panic. He was getting married, yet he had slept with another woman the night before!

He wanted to hide Hannah, but it was toote. Sandra walked in with other people, catching them red-handed. The engagement was called off, and he ended up marrying Hannah.
