Chapter 265

This Lionel was almost like the man she had lived with before they were married. But for some reason, Hannah found herself repulsed by it.

The more he acted like this, the more she suspected he was hiding something, hence the sudden change in behavior. After all, in their three years of marriage, he had almost never exined anything to her, let alone spoken to her in such a calm and even tone.

Hannah looked away. "What you do is your business. You don''t have to exin anything to me, and I don''t want to hear it."

With that, she turned and went upstairs.

Lionel watched her go, her reluctance to even listen making his already furrowed brow deepen.

Fine. At least she had seen his gesture.

He knew she wouldn''t ept it right away, but he could be patient. If he could just get their rtionship back on track, then when the day came, he could tell her the truth, and maybe they wouldn''t have to fight.

At the doorway, Cora was about to try and exin herself again when she overheard Lionel''s words to Hannah. Her heart twisted in a painful knot, her face contorting.

Lionel clearly despised Hannah, so why the sudden change of heart?

Could it be... they weren''t nning on getting a divorce after all?

The thought sent a shiver down her spine, and goosebumps erupted on her arms.

Two security guards walked up. "Take her away," Lionel ordered.

    "Yes, sir."

As they reached for her, Cora flinched away.

"I can walk myself!" she snapped, ring at Lionel. "Sir, you will regret this! I swear you will! Everything I did was for you!"

She stomped down the stairs, her heavy footsteps echoing her frustration. As she walked, she furiously typed out a series of messages to Sandra.

Sandra was at home, recovering, when her phone started buzzing incessantly. Annoyed, she picked it up. As she read the flood of iing messages, her face darkened.

Cora: [The master and Hannah had another fight tonight. He''s mad your apology

wasn''t good enough and that Hannah felt wronged.]

Cora: [He even had his grandmother

send people to take me away, just for Hannah. He''s speaking so softly to her now, like he''s afraid ofo upsetting her.]

Cora: [And it looks like he doesn''t want to go through with the divorce. Hannah doesn''t seem to be pushing for it either.]

Cora: [If you don''t give a better apology next time, I think he''ll get even angrier with you and go out of his way tofort Hannah.]

Cora: [He called his grandma today, too. They talked for a long time. Grandma is really pleased with Hannah.]

Sandra''s eyes turned bloodshot as she read. She didn''t even finish the messages before she hurled her phone against the wall with all her might.

"Damn it! We''re just a few days away, and now you''re telling me they''re changing their minds?" She

mmed her fists into her mattress,"

    over and over.

If they weren''t getting a divorce, what was the point of everything she had done?

    No!

    They had to get divorced!

Lionel didn''t even like Hannah. He was just a dutiful grandson, going along with his grandmother''s wishes!

It was that old hag, pulling the strings from behind the scenes!
