Chapter 248

Hannah walked over. "Checking the gossip sites? Did Sandra call you toe pick her up after her little fall today?"

Lionel''s expression darkened as he looked up at her.

Hannah sank into a nearby armchair, crossing her arms. "Did you watch the video?" she asked, an eyebrow arched. "Watch it closely. Again and again. Zoom in. See if I touched her even once before you decide I''m the one who pushed her."

The moment she saw his face, she knew what he was thinking. She rolled her eyes and picked up a cup of tea, blowing on it leisurely.

"I wasn''t thinking that," Lionel said, putting his phone down. "But did you really have to have your friend send me those messages beforehand?"

He had been in a meeting that afternoon when his phone buzzed incessantly. Seeing the notifications were from Hannah, he''d felt a jolt of panic, since she never messaged him like that. He thought it was an emergency, but when he opened the chat, he found a stream of photos and videos. He''d replied asking what was going on but got no response. Then, that evening, he saw the trending topic. The whole thing left him with a strange, unsettling feeling.

"What about the man in thest two photos?" he asked.

Hannah didn''t know what he was talking about. She checked her phone and realized Tess must have sent Lionel the pictures of the photographer directly.

"I don''t know. That''s why they were sent to you-so you could find out," Hannah said coolly. "After all, don''t you think the photos from Sandra''s three starring roles on the gossip sites look a little too professional? That man had professional gear and a professional stance. And his position just so happens to match the angle of the photos that went viral today."

Lionel''s eyes narrowed. He picked up his phone, pulled up the articles, andpared the images. She was right.

"Are you saying," he asked slowly, "that Sandra hired someone to stage and photograph all of this?"

Hannah just smiled, saying nothing. She went upstairs to change, leaving him alone on the sofa to stew in his thoughts.

    His frown deepened. He forwarded

the picture of the man to his assistant with a simple instruction: find out everything. If this was all a setup he and Sandra were going to

After a quick shower, Hannah changed into somefortable clothes. By the time she came back downstairs, Grandma had arrived.

    "Grandma!"

Seeing her after more than three weeks, Hannah''s eyes immediately welled with tears. All the pent-up frustration and hurt she''d been holding back came rushing to the surface.

"Oh, my dear, ar Jet me have a look at you." Grandma took Hannah''s hands and had her spin around, examining her from head to toe Her face immediately hardened "Lionel you brat! Did you bully Hannah while I was away? Look at her, she''s lost more weight!"

"Grandma you say that every time you see me," Hannah said, gently leading her to the dining table.

haven''t lost any weight. It''s just been

a while, so it seems that way."

Grandma shot a furious re at Lionel. "You just wait, young man. If I find out

you''ve been mistreating her, I''ll skin you alive!"

"Grandma, if you''re that worried, you should just move in with us like you used to," Lionel suggested, walking over.

Hannah''s eyes flew wide open. Was this man insane?
