Chapter 865

"Don''t leave any," Miranda muttered as she grabbed a dinner roll. "This might not even be enough for Juniper."

"Understood." The bewildered housekeeper saw Miranda to the door and turned around to find herself face-to-face with Hayden. Oh, dear. Mr. Schwartz did not look happy.

"Has my wife left?” Hayden asked, his face cold.

"Yes," the housekeeper replied, then added cautiously, "And she took all the desserts with her."

"I see.” Hayden nced at the empty te, which only had a few crumbs left. They had been a loving couple for over thirty years, and she wouldn''t even leave him a single cookie. Now that she had a "daughter-inw," she''dpletely forgotten her "dear husband." His status in the family was already low; he could only imagine how much worse things would get for him and Shanley once Juniper officially joined them.

Sighing, Hayden looked up at the ceiling, feeling nothing but helpless resignation.

At the studio, Juniper had gone straight from school to meet Jimmie instead of going home, letting Shanley know on the way.

"You''re joining a show?" Shanley chuckled helplessly and reminded her softly, "Okay, have fun. Don''t be too nervous, just be yourself."

"I won''t be back for the next two days." Juniper clutched her phone, a heavy feeling in her chest. "See you Sunday night."

"Can I visit you on set?" Shanley asked. He knew the show was live, which meant once filming started, she wouldn''t be able to leave. He would miss her if he couldn''t see her for two days and was also worried she wouldn''t sleep well without him.

"We''ll see," Juniper mumbled, her voice raspy. She actually enjoyed their "secret" rtionship, this private world where they weren''t bothered by anyone. If he came to the set, they would easily be photographed. She hadn''t figured out how to face public scrutiny if their rtionship was exposed. It was all so frustrating.

"I get it," Shanley replied quietly, his heart aching. *Have I not done enough? Is that why Juniper is so hesitant to make our rtionship public?*

Back at the studio, Miranda was waiting anxiously in her office, constantly looking out the window. *Why aren''t they here yet? Did she change her mind?*

"Director Miranda, who exactly is joining the show?" the assistant director asked, pletely baffled and curious. It was all so mysterious; even he was being kept in the dark.

"You''ll know in a minute." Just as Miranda spoke, her assistant pushed the door open.

    "Director Miranda, they''ve arrived."

“Really?" Miranda immediately pushed past the assistant director and rushed out, spotting the heavily disguised pair by the elevator.

"Whoa." The assistant director was stunned. He stiffly lowered his sunsses and muttered in disbelief, "Are they cosying as assassins? Cool!"

“Director Miranda!" Jimmie took off his hat and mask and greeted her politely.

"Jimmie!" the assistant director''s voice grew even louder with surprise. The special guest is you No wonder Miranda had been so secretive, He couldn''t even imaging how high the ratings would be when this episode aired. And his sister was...

Just then, Juniper, who was behind him, also removed her sunsses and hat, revealing a fair, delicate, and breathtakingly beautiful face. Though she was dressed simply and wore no makeup, her face was a standout even in an industry filled with beauties.

"Isn''t that Jimmie''s sister?" the assistant director''s voice climbed higher with each revtion. He had seen pictures of her online before and had been stunned by her beauty, wondering why someone with her looks hadn''t entered the entertainment industry. Itwas onlyter that he learned she was a master of dance and the top scorer

    on the university entrance

exam-with a perfect score in all subjects.

    Oh. Never mind then.
