The assistant director craned his neck and strained his ears, terrified of missing a single keyword.
"...none of your business," Juniper said slowly, a smirk ying on her lips before she turned and walked away without a backward nce.
The assistant director stood frozen, staring after her with a thoughtful expression. *Tsk, tsk.* That mischievous streak was just like Director Miranda''s. Could it be? Was she actually Director Miranda''s daughter?!
On her way out, Juniper stopped by the restroom. As she was washing her hands, she ran into Ynda, who was touching up her makeup at the counter.
"What are you doing here?" Ynda''s expression changed instantly, her eyes darting around warily. *Is she jealous that I got on Director Miranda''s show? Is she trying to get Miranda''s attention and steal some of the spotlight?*
"Do you own the ce?" Juniper replied coolly, ncing upnguidly as she washed her hands.
“I—” Ynda looked up, saw the "Restroom" sign, and choked on her words. Once she was sure they were alone, her true colors showed. "Director Miranda isn''t someone just anyone can meet." As a cast member, she had only met the director for the first time today. Director Miranda had told her, “Era University is such a wonderful ce,” and had smiled so warmly when she said it. She must have been very pleased with her. All her efforts, spending money and pulling strings to get on the show, had paid off. As for Juniper... her brother was friends with Shanley, giving her a connection. If Miranda had been interested, she would have picked her long ago. She probably pitched herself, but Miranda wasn''t interested, and now she was back, refusing to give up.
"Is that so?" Juniper turned off the faucet and flicked water from her hands. Ynda shrieked and jumped back, clutching the skirt of her dress. It was a rental for the event; she couldn''t afford to damage it. "But how do you know I''m not someone special?"
Juniper took two steps forward, a chilling curve to her lips that held no trace of a smile.
Ynda shrank back, intimidated by her presence. “You—”
Just as she was about to say more, Juniper suddenly looked over her shoulder. "Director Miranda."
"?" Ynda''s heart skipped a beat. Her expression instantly shifted back to a gentle facade. "Mi-" She turned around, only to find no one there. She''d been tricked! When she Juniper,
spun back to confro she
found that she was gone too. Juniper was her nemesis?
"Bitch!" Ynda stood frozen in ce, her hands slowly clenching into fists, her eyes filled with a terrifying hatred. Once she charmed Miranda, seduced Shanley, and married into the Schwartz family... the first person she would deal with was Juniper.
A short timeter, the first episode of *Hey, Sis!* officially aired. Shanley was sitting on the sofa with Juniper nestled in his arms, an iPad resting on the mobile table in front of them. Ynda''s segment was ying.
She was dressed like a shy peacock, her makeup so heavy it made her face look a bit muddy. Standing next to Yates, she wore a faint smile, showing exactly eight teeth. Her voice was so soft and delicate that it sounded like a gust of wind could blow her away-a stark
contrast to her usual arrogant demeanor.
"Isn''t that your foster mother''s daughter?" Shanley murmured, his gaze dropping to Juniper''s face.
Juniper nodded.
"Why did they cast her?" Shanley frowned, his voice raspy. “I don''t like her. Should I have Miranda rece her?"
"No need." Juniper''s lips curved into
a faint, careless smile. "The first three pairs have either talent or looks.
tanda she provides met<pic relief." She was guaranteed pull some ridiculous stunts. And the viewers weren''t fools; who knew what kind of memes they''d make out of her.
