"That Kurt might be... what?" Shanley''s deep eyes lifted to Juniper''s face, azy, enchanting smile ying on his lips.


    "Trying to assassinate my sister?!" Juniper eximed, dodging Shanley''s hand. "Kurt is so petty! It was just one kick! Did you see the way he was looking at her?"


    Wow. He was squinting at her! And he did it secretly, more than once. If they hadn''t been at the dinner table, she would have wanted to kick him herself.


    "And I even gave him a sports car," Juniper said, getting more worked up. "I''m angry now."


    "There, there, don''t be angry." Knowing how protective she was, Shanley quickly soothed her. "Want me to deal with Kurt for you? Should I break his other leg? It''s your call."


    "That''s not necessary," Juniper pouted, her long, thickshes fluttering as she mumbled, "I''m not a monster."


    "Alright," Shanley chuckled, taking her hand and tucking it into his coat pocket. "We''ll just keep them from seeing each other from now on."


    "Okay." Juniper nodded, her gaze shifting to Ebony Fox, who was walking ahead, a solitary figure.


    She was also quite curious. What kind of man could ever hope to win over her formidable sister? One thing was for sure, though he''d have to meet at least one requirement: being able to take a punch.


    Three dayster, after countless experiments, Juniper and Harold finalized the form for the antidote.

    “Got it.” Juniper sat down on the sofa, crossed her legs, and gave him a casual wave. She then opened her phone and started ying a game, ncing over at the sleeping Ebony Fox on the bed from time to time.


    To ensure a one-time sess, the dosage of the antidote was especially potent. If she could get through the next 48 hours without e any reaction, a blood test would reveal whether it had worked. That meant she still had two days of anxiety ahead of her.
