Warren stood frozen, his face shifting between shades of pale and green as she verbally dismantled him.
"I''m sorry," he managed, forcing a tight-lipped smile. It was a sincere apology.
Juniper hopped off the cot, patting her pants. "Oh, please. I couldn''t possibly ept," she said, her voice dripping with sarcasm.
Warren winced again. In that moment, he finally understood where Celine got her fiery temper. Her sister''s was even worse.
"Juniper." Shanley stepped forward, draping his jacket over her shoulders. His brow furrowed. "I''m sorry I''mte."
"You''ve got good timing," Juniper said, tilting her head up to give him a yful, pouty look. A small smile touched her lips.
She hade to Liberty Ind with a two-part n. The first was to tell Warren the truth herself. The second was to have Shanley do it. Both were designed to test his devotion to Celine.
Just one of their organizations, Subterra Vanguard or the Sigma Network, was enough to make powers around the world tremble. The two of them united was an unthinkable force. While Liberty Ind was formidable, it was nothingpared to theirbined might. She hadn''t expected that even after she revealed her identity as Specter, with Shanley himself backing her up, Warren wouldn''t back down. He had been willing to risk all of Liberty Ind for Celine. That, at least, proved his feelings for her were genuine.
For that reason alone, Juniper decided to forgive him. For two seconds.
But only two. Locking her in a cell was one thing, but starving her? For two whole meals? Unforgivable!
"Let''s get you something to eat," Shanley said, his voice soft as he gently caressed her face. "We can deal with everything elseter."
“Yes,” Warren quickly agreed, seizing the opportunity. “I''ll have the kitchen prepare something."
Juniper''s delicate brows knitted together. As she walked past Warren, she shot him a withering re.
The truth was too much for Warren to process. This wasn''t just a new sister-inw; this was a high-maintenance little tyrant he had to appease!

In the dining room, Juniper sat like a queen white Shanley served her, meticulously picking out the things she didn''t like from her te. He was more attentive than a parent with a picky child.
Warren sat at a distance, a vein throbbing in his temple as he
watched the scene unfold. He knew Specter was a woman in disguise but seeing her in men''s clothes being so openly affectionate with another man, was unsettling.
Just then, a subordinate burst into the room, face beaded with sweat. "My Lord," he stammered, “the Madam... she''s copsed."
Warren''s face went white. He shot up from his chair and sprinted out of the room. "tter."
Juniper''s spoon dropped. She stood so abruptly that she knocked against the table, sending dishes crashing to the floor as she nearly lost her bnce.
"It''s okay,” Shanley said, instantly steadying her.
Seeing his face, Juniper''s panic subsided slightly. "We have to go to my sister," she said, her voice trembling.
"I know." Shanley nodded, taking her hand in a firm grip as they rushed after Warren.
In the bedroom, Celiney motionless on the bed, her face as pale as snow. The
maids stood against the wall, trembling like leaves in a storm.
"Is this how you take care of her?” Warren roared as he approached the bed, reaching for his wife''s hand. "Where''s the doctor? Get the doctor in here
In the next second, Juniper pushed him aside and went to Celine''s bedside.
"You—” Warren started to re up, but stopped short when he met Juniper''s icy stare.
*She is your sister-inw*, he reminded himself. *Don''t yell. Or you''ll lose your wife.*
