Chapter 802

"A blood draw?" Warren frowned, his voice low. "Can we find another way? Needles hurt, and Celine will resist it."

They''d tried before, and it had been a huge struggle. The memory still pained him.

"Do it!" Before Juniper could answer, Celine herself rolled up her sleeve and presented her arm to Juniper. "You can draw it!"

Her face was wreathed in a smile, and her tone was light, showing no sign of fear. Warren''s look of concern slowly morphed into confusion, then outright shock.

Hasn''t Celine been terrified of needles her whole life? Countless doctors had failed to even get close to her. Yet here she was, practically thrilled to let Nocturne draw her blood. What the hell? Was it his face? Was he so good-looking that it acted as an anesthetic?

"Alright,” Juniper said, blinking. She calmly drew a vial of blood and ced it in her bag.

"I''ll have the test results within two days. At that point, I will return to Liberty Ind with a treatment n."

After giving her instructions, Juniper packed her things and stood to leave, but just as she was about to walk away-

    "Wait."

Celine suddenly ran up to her, holding a small cupcake. She looked at her earnestly. "This is delicious. It''s for you."

"Thank you." Juniper epted the gift, thanking Celine while also giving a nod to her scowling husband. "And thank you, too."

His re was sharp enough to kill. Juniper just smiled silently. She''d seen that look on another man''s face before. It was pure jealousy.

"You have to promise you''ll eat it," Celine said, her eyespletely ignoring her husband, focused entirely on Juniper. "It''s mango-vored. Your favorite."

Juniper froze for a second. How did she know she liked mango? If the jealous husband wasn''t standing right there, she would have pressed her for an answer.

    Warren''s expression darkened even

further. They had just met. How could Celine possibly know the doctor''s favorite vor? She had never even offered him a cupcake before.

"Okay," Juniper replied with a warm smile. "I''ll eat every bite."

Though Celine''s mind was different, her heart was kind. That, bined with her being an orphan-a past that mirrored Juniper''s own. childhood-stirked a deep sense of sympathy in her.

“That''s enough,” Warren said, unable to vent his frustration at Celine, so he directed

it at Juniper instead. "Someone, escort Master Nocturne off the ind."

Before she left, Warren tossed onest threat her way. "Just do your job. Don''t get any funny ideas."

“Huh?” Juniper gave him a long, hard look. After a moment, she bit out a single word through her teeth: "Psycho."

"You-" Warren''s face flushed with anger, but by the time he could react, the doctor was already gone.

    "Bang!"

Warren kicked a chair across the room, his hands on his hips as he struggled to control his breathing A deetor should just focus on healingge

Why did he have to have a face that could charm anyone? It wasjust asking for trouble!

"Celine..." Once Juniper''s figure had vanished, Warren walked over to his wife and knelt down, looking up at her with a gentle expression. "Do you like that doctor?"

Celine blinked, not quite understanding. "She''s... pretty."

Pretty? Why was she so fixated on that wordtely? Did she just like beautiful things? If so, he wasn''t bad-looking himself.

"You''re only allowed to like me, okay?" Warren caressed her face, his voice soft and alluring. “And I will always love you, and only you."

"Love husband." Celine understood that much. She leaned forward and gave him a sweet kiss. "I will always love my husband."
