Warren was looking for Nocturne?
Shanley heard it too and nced down at Juniper. If he remembered correctly, one of Juniper''s many aliases was the renowned miracle doctor, "Nocturne."
"Let''s go," Juniper said with a yawn, taking the initiative to grasp Shanley''s hand. Her expression was suddenly much more rxed.
...
"What''s the situation?" Warren asked, frustrated and helpless as he watched the leader of Sigma Network leave. He had no choice but to focus on the matter of Nocturne.
"A few days ago, Nocturne''s private ount became very active on major medical websites and in underground markets,” the subordinate replied respectfully. “It seems he''s searching for something important, most likely a rare herb."
"If he''s active, it means he''s still alive." A faint smile appeared on Warren''s face. "It means there''s a chance for Celine to get better."
He had been worried that Nocturne''s long silence meant he had passed away. Now, there was hope!
"Contact him," Warren ordered as he started walking back. "Whatever he wants, Liberty Ind can provide."
People, money, power... whatever he had, he would give without hesitation. Whatever he didn''t have, he would find, buy, or steal.
At Cloudscape Community.
Juniper was leaning over her desk, on a video call with Ebony Fox.
"The recruits you trained are all top-notch, just as I''d expect," Ebony Fox said, looking vibrant and full of energy in her trainer''s uniform. You''d never guess she was sick.
Juniper knew it was just the medication. Once this month''s dose wore off, her health would decline rapidly.
"Have you been eating properly?" Juniper asked with a yful arch of her eyebrow.
"Yes," Ebony Fox said, rubbing her temples in weary resignation. "With all the people you have watching me, how could I not be eating properly?"
"Good." Juniper smiled, satisfied. Then she added in a low, threatening murmur, “I don''t like it when my sister doesn''t listen."
"I''m listening!" Ebony Fox immediately dered herpliance. "I''m being very good."
The smile in Juniper''s eyes deepened. "Fine. You cane back anytime you feel tired," she said softly.
Ebony Fox was used to being busy at the Huntsman Institute. A sudden retirement would leave her bored, and boredom led to overthinking It was better for her to train the new recruits at Subterra Vanguard, which also freed up Juniper''s time to find a cure.
After hanging up, Juniper opened herptop and found the file on "Warren Sherwin" that Subterra Vanguard had sent over. She had seen most of the information before, but there was one ring omission: there was no information at all about his wife.
So, he was searching everywhere for "Nocturne" because of his wife? What kind of illness required such a desperate search? If that was the case, things were about to get much easier.
With that thought, Juniper logged out of her email and signed into her "Nocturne? ount. As expected, she found a message from Liberty Ind in her inbox, requesting a consultation.
She opened a chat window, and a message came through instantly, stating that they would meet any demand if she would just take the case. She typed back her reply: [Three days. Liberty Ind.]
On Liberty Ind, Warren was ecstatic to hear that Nocturne had epted the case.
“Honey, why are you so happy?" Celine, still puttering with her nts and flowers, blinked up at the beaming man.
"Because you''re going to get better
soon," Warren said, crouching in front of her. He gently stroked her
beautiful cheek. “Celine, I want you to be able to live like a normal person."
“A normal person?" Celine murmured the words, shaking her head, not quite
understanding. "Honey, let''s go eat cake."
