Hearing that, Shanley''s eyes lit up. A faint smile spread across his handsome, aristocratic face.
"Are you finished with your basic training?” Juniper shot a look at the young brats across from her, a wave of heat rising in her cheeks as she tried to suppress it.
“Not yet!” The kids knew better than to keep joking around and scattered with mischievousughs.
"Let''s go,” Shanley said, the smile on his pale face widening. His voice was soft. "The members of Subterra Vanguard are quite likable.”
Juniper nced up at him. Tsk. Did he have to be this happy?
"That''s not what you said when they were hunting you down," she reminded him mercilessly.
"It doesn''t matter," Shanley said, quickening his pace to take her hand. He leaned in slightly. "They already see me as yours. They can hunt me all they want."
Juniper felt this man had no shame. She tried to pull her hand away, feeling awkward.
"Just let me hold it," Shanley said, his grip tightening as he chuckled. "My wound hurts. I''ll have to trouble Boss Specter for some support."
Juniper looked up and saw membersing and going, all of them staring pointedly at the two of them.
"Ahem..." With an embarrassed cough, she gave up trying to pull away and instead picked up the pace. "Walk faster."
"Alright," Shanley said with a triumphant smile, keeping step with her and deliberately staying close.
Inside the room, the atmosphere was tense. Shanley was seated alone on one side, while Juniper had been ''escorted'' by the five masters to sit opposite him. The silent space was thick with unspoken threats.
"Are you here to settle scores?" Michael began, his face grim and his tone hostile. "You stole our girl, so what if I shot you?"
"You''re right," Shanley said, standing up to face the masters. He bowed humbly "Regarding what happened before, I wronged Juniper also
Juniors and for caused all of you to worry, that, I am deeply sorry."
The five masters exchanged a look. They had never imagined that the formidable leader of Sigma Network would ever bow his head to them. The scathing remarks they had prepared died in their throats.
"I know you all have many concerns about me being with Juniper," he continued.
“And verbal promises are just empty words."
As he spoke, Shanley pulled a gun
from his pocket and ced it on the table. "If, in the future, any of you feel I have wronged Juniper you can use this gun to take care of me at any time guarantee that neither Sigma Network nor the Schwartz Group in Era City will have anyints."
Juniper watched him in silence, her lips pressed into a thin line.
The arch-nemesis was being so sincere that the five masters felt a bit awkward. *He''s willing to give up his life for love? Specter''s ''potion'' must be potent stuff!*
"Furthermore..." Before they could respond, Shanley continued, "Sigma Network previously destroyed several of Subterra Vanguard''s key ports. We will pay 30 billion inpensation."
It wasn''t just the masters; even Juniper''s eyebrows shot up in surprise at the figure. "And as a show of good faith, the military factory and technologyb in Borealia''s eastern district will also be gifted to Subterra Vanguard."
Michael''s eyes flew open in disbelief. “That''s half of Sigma Network''s empire," he murmured. "You''re willing to part with that?"
Subterra Vanguard had spent considerable effort trying to seize those assets, and had failed every time. And now he was just handing them over.
"Of course I am." A faint smile yed on Shanley''s lips as his gaze fell on Juniper. "Juniper is my empire."
The five masters collectively rolled their eyes, thoroughly fed up with this sickeningly sweet romance. But they had to admit—this kid really knew how to win over the elders.
