"And what good is Cybeic Shadows anyway? They were useless when it came to finding my brother. Hmph!"
Her words left Shanley speechless. It was true that they had lost to Binary Oracle, and it was also true that they had failed to find information in time. In Juniper''s eyes, Cybeic Shadows was aplete failure.
The only problem was, while he could manage not working with Cybeic Shadows, coborating with Binary Oracle was another story. Binary Oracle was his sworn enemy. The thought of them working with the Schwartz Group... the image was too horrifying to contemte.
"Finish your cake and get some rest. I''m going next door to handle some work," Shanley said, calming Juniper down before heading to the study.
The moment he left, however, Juniper opened herptop and began investigating the Schwartz Group and Cybeic Shadows. Just as Shanley had said, there were no significant dealings between them.
Good. Now she could make her move without any worries.
In the study, Shanley sat at hisputer with a grave expression, giving orders to the person on the other end of the video call. “Be careful during the operation. Do not expose any information rted to the Schwartz Group."
It was clear that Juniper had a good impression of Binary Oracle. If she found out he was the one who destroyed them, she would be furious.
"Yes, Boss," his subordinate replied respectfully.
"And how are the preparations for tomorrow''s assassination?"
"Everything is perfectly in ce," the subordinate confirmed. “Rest assured, Boss. We''ve confirmed that Specter has entered Moralia Country. She won''t be leaving alive this time."
"Good." Shanley ended the call and shut down hisputer.
Returning to the bedroom, he found the main room empty. In the bedroom, a small lump under the covers caught his eye. He walked over and saw Juniper, curled up against a pillow, sleeping soundly.
He sat beside her, gently stroking her cheek with a fond smile. After tomorrow, everything would be over. He could finally reveal her identity, without anyone posing a threat to her
---
The next day, Juniper woke up groggily to find Shanley getting dressed. "You''re leaving already?" He had mentioned he had an important negotiation today.
"Yeah." Shanley walked over to her, bent down, and ced a gentle kiss on her forehead, a smile ying on his lips. "Are you going to miss me? Want toe with me?"
"Boring. I don''t want to go," Juniper replied with a yawn, feigning calmness. "How long will you be?"
“I''ll be back before dark for sure,” Shanley said, stroking her face, his gaze soft and adoring. “I''ll bring you back a treat. Text me if you miss me."
“Okay.” Juniper leaned against the headboard, watching him with azy expression.
This assassination attempt was not going to be simple. In the worst-case scenario, she would get injured, and her identity as Subterra Vanguard''s Specter would be exposed.
Oh well. She had already blown so many of her covers; what was one more?
"What are you thinking about?" Shanley asked, a flicker of guilt crossing his mind as he saw her staring at him absently. He worried she had found out about the assassination and was concerned.
"Nothing,” Juniper said, blinking and casually turning her face away. Just a little
killing, a little fighting, nothing much.
"Get some rest. I''m leaving."
After saying his goodbyes, the door clicked shut.
The moment t it did, Juniper shot out of bed and went to the balcony. After watching Shanley''s figure disappear, she immediately pulled out her phone and dialed Lue Langley. "Meet me downstairs. We''re going to take down the leader of Sigma Network!"
