?Chapter 1104:
A sly grin crept onto Wesley’s face as he caught her expectant look. “If I showed up empty-handed, wouldn’t you stop liking me altogether?”
Elena was about to retract her hand when Wesley caught it midair. With an expressive ir, he pulled out a luxury box from his pocket. “Rx. Did you really think I’d forget a present for my princess?”
Elena barely had to touch the box to realize just how extravagant it was, far outshining even the gift Jeffry had given her. Typical Wesley, always going over the top.
With a pleased smile, Elena epted the present. “You’re the best, Wesley. Thank you.”
Wesley lifted an eyebrow, mischief dancing in his eyes. “That’s it? A simple thank you?”
Elena grinned. “What, you want something more? How exactly should I show my gratitude?”
Wesley pointed meaningfully to his lips, making his request perfectly clear.
Since she’d already gotten her gift, she saw no reason to hold back. She grabbed him by the cor, pulled him closer, and pressed a quick kiss to his lips.
Just as she started to pull away, Wesley stopped her, drawing her back in for a deeper, lingering kiss. He didn’t let go until Elena was breathless, their warm exhales mingling as the space inside the car seemed to pulse with new electricity.
Wesley’s gaze locked onto Elena, dark and intense.
That look was all too familiar to Elena. Whenever Wesley was aroused, he’d pin her down with those intense, almost secretive eyes.
Just as she braced herself for what he might do next, Wesley surprised her by suddenly pulling away and settling beside her instead.
For a moment, Elena just blinked, not hiding her confusion as her eyes wandered from his face to hisp. Was he really holding back now? Since when did Wesley ever restrain himself?
Wesley swallowed, Adam’s apple bobbing, his breathing just barely uneven.
Then, gently, he ced his hand over her eyes. Voice hoarse, he whispered, “Don’t look at me like that—I won’t be able to control myself.”
It took everything he had to quiet the raging desire inside him. After a beat, he leaned in and buckled her seat belt himself.

Curiosity sparked, Elena asked, “So, where are we heading?”
Wesley shot her a sideways nce. “We’re going to watch fireworks.”
Elena expected the usual, a crowded park or a busy square filled with strangers, but instead, Wesley drove all the way out to the riverbank.
The wind whipped around the car, and with Elena dressed lightly, neither of them bothered to step outside.
Elena peeked out at the empty river’s edge. “Is this what you meant by watching fireworks?”
A faint grin yed on Wesley’s lips. “Just wait. You’ll find out soon enough.” No sooner had the words left his mouth than a thunderous explosion rang out, filling the darkness above with a sudden shower of brilliant fireworks.
Blue sparks burst into the sky, one after another, unfurling high above until the night shimmered with a cascade of blue stars. The sheer beauty of it left Elena speechless. “This is…”
Elena’s eyes grew wide as she gazed upward, pletely mesmerized by the breathtaking disy. Those brilliant blue bursts seemed almost unreal, painting the night with a glow that made her heart skip.
Meanwhile, Wesley barely nced at the spectacle above. His attention never wavered from Elena, watching every flicker of wonder on her face. “Do you like it?” he asked quietly, his gaze softening.
