Chapter 1050

    ?Chapter 1050:

The guard shook his head. “That’s not happening. No authorization, no exit.”

Everyone knew about N’s deceit, how she’d lied to be the Healer’s protégé. Soldiers, with their strong sense of honor, had no patience for liars.

“Quit trying. Bring the paperwork, or you’re not leaving. Rules are rules. Don’t waste my time,” the guard said, clearly done with her.

N clenched her teeth. Even those at the bottom of the ranks gave her a hard time. She made a silent promise to remember every insult.

A momentter, the guards rotated, and the next on duty happened to be a soldier N had once treated. He quietly let her slip past the checkpoint.

N made her way straight to a quiet courtyard tucked away from the main paths. Rapping her knuckles on the door in a secret pattern, she waited. A man inside recognized the signal and opened the door for her.

N’s voice came out icy. “Tell me what happened. Why was the organization destroyed?”

The man was Wyatt. He had barely managed to escape from a fire not long ago. Scars covered one side of his face, the skin rough and marked from the mes. When he looked at someone, his eyes carried a coldness that seemed almost inhuman. A wicked grin stretched across his face. “Why ask me? If it weren’t for you, the organization wouldn’t have been destroyed, my buddies wouldn’t have died, and I wouldn’t have been in this state. So, Dr. Vance, what are you going to do about it?”

N frowned, her voice cool and sharp. “Don’t try anything reckless. Mr. Miller already doubts your abilities. One more mistake, and he’ll make sure you pay for it.”

Wyatt’s sneer faded just a bit at the mention of Earle, though he didn’t let go of his scowl. He spat out a bitterugh, his scars twisting with the motion. “Trying to throw Mr. Miller’s name at me? Huh. If you hadn’t sent me after that pretty chick, the base wouldn’t have been destroyed. Think Mr. Miller will forgive you once he knows the truth?”

“What?” Confusion edged into N’s tone. “Are you saying that tramp Elena’s the one behind it all?”

N couldn’t believe it. Elena couldn’t possibly have the power to tear everything apart. She shook her head. “That’s unlikely. She’s just a delicate woman. There’s no chance she managed to beat all of you. Stop ming me for your failures.”

Wyatt’s jaw locked. “I can’t get those damn amber eyes out of my head!” Images of Elena haunted his nights, filling his mind with savage dreams. He wanted her to suffer. He longed to take her apart piece by piece and make her beg for mercy before the end. Rage and vengeance burned in his gaze, every muscle tense with the need for payback.

Cutting the tension, N said, “This isn’t why I came. Mr. Miller sent word. We’re supposed to rebuild what’s left and get back to business.” No other options remained for her. The Base Medical Center had fired her, and desperation left her searching for any chance to survive. “The usual deal. You deliver the targets, and I’ll handle the operation.”

Wyatt wasted no time. He dragged a young boy out, sending him sprawling with a hard kick. “I’ve already found one. The client put down a deposit. The rest is up to you now, Dr. Vance.”

Curled up on the floor, Tucker hugged his knees, shaking with fear.

A look of disbelief crossed N’s face. “You brought a kid?”

Wyatt shrugged, his voice cold. “Consider yourself lucky to have anyone at all. That woman burned everything we built, and now the cops are everywhere. This kid’s own father sold him. No one’s going to care what happens.”

N studied Tucker, brow furrowed. “I don’t have any anesthesia or even proper equipment for this.”

Wyatt didn’t flinch. “I’ve already prepared the surgical tools for you. If you can’t numb the pain, just hold him down and do the job.”
