Chapter 1032

    ?Chapter 1032:

Evelyn sneered, “Still pretending? You thought I’d never find out, didn’t you? You’re the one who introduced that tramp to Jeffry. No wonder he’s acted like I barely exist since the day I married him—turns out he’s been bewitched by that tramp.”

Evidence wasn’t in short supply. Evelyn whipped out several photos—each one showing Jeffry and Lydia together—and shoved them at Elena.

Realization dawned on Elena the moment her eyesnded on the images.

Seeing Elena’s silence, Evelyn grew even more convinced of her guilt. “Don’t tell me you’re still trying to deny it. The proof’s right here. Isn’t that woman your friend?”

Evelyn’s anger boiled over as she finally said what she’d kept buried for ages, “I should’ve known you’d bring only trouble into this house. You’re just a shameless bumpkin with no manners. Your friend’s just as low as you are. Don’t think I don’t see through you. You’re afraid I’ll dominate Jeffry’s attention and make him ignore you, aren’t you? Jealousy’s eating you up, isn’t it? You want to snatch everything for yourself. The Harper family’s fortune isn’t enough—you want your three brothers to revolve around you!”

“Are you finished?” Elena’s tone was like ice, slicing straight through the room.

That indifference only fueled Evelyn’s anger, her jaw clenched so tightly she could barely speak. Evelyn had always believed that her position and her looks would be enough to make Jeffry fall for her. But no matter what she did, he barely spared her a nce. Most nights, Jeffry was nowhere to be found—either holed up in his office or locked away in his downtown apartment.

When he did set foot in the house, he chose the study over their bedroom, refusing to share even that small intimacy. Evelyn had tried time and again to bridge the distance between them, but Jeffry mmed shut every door she attempted to open.

For a while, she convinced herself it was just his career—that his coldness was a side effect of ruthless ambition. That, she could have forgiven. But what shattered her was discovering the truth: Jeffry had passion in him—just never for her.

That kind of realization stung worse than any betrayal. How could Evelyn swallow the fact that a tramp meant more to him than she ever did? Confronting Jeffry head-on was out of the question. Their marriage was a business deal, stitched together with contracts and conditions. She had no standing to call him out.

Left with nowhere else to turn, she decided tosh out at Lydia and Elena.

“I’m not finished yet!” Evelyn yelled, her voice raw and trembling. “Jeffry is my husband—legally, we’re bound together. You’re nothing but the rude hick your parents dragged back here, and pretty soon, you’ll be shipped off for a marriage of your own. Jeffry and I are the real family!”

As Evelyn spoke, her usations grew sharper. Elena scowled. “If you’re upset with your husband, talk to him. What’s any of this got to do with me?”

Evelyn fell silent, just for a moment. If she could have confronted Jeffry, she would have done it long ago. But their prenuptial agreement had silenced her—neither of them could pry into the other’s affairs, no matter the hurt.

Unable to hold back her anger any longer, Evelyn screamed, “You think I’m afraid? I won’t let that tramp walk away without consequences!”

Annoyed, Elena put her hands over her ears. “You should leave her alone. She’s not someone you want to mess with.”

But that warning only fanned the mes inside Evelyn. Being the Morgan heiress and the rightful Mrs. Harper gave her a sense of invincibility. Why should she be afraid of some hussy?

With her pride burning bright, Evelyn grabbed her phone and called Ste.

As daylight faded, the exclusive lounge at the Empire took on a golden glow.

Across the table, Malcolm nudged Wesley with a sly grin. “Well, look at you, Wesley. Seems your dreams are finallying together. Even Gerald’s throwing his weight behind you. Tell me—are you actually thinking of marrying Elena?”
