Chapter 965

    ?Chapter 965:

The quiet whir of the dryer filled the room as his fingers gently worked through her hair.

He had gotten surprisingly good at this, and the warmth from the dryer, bined with his careful touch, made her eyelids grow heavy. Once her hair was dry, Wesley leaned in and ced a soft kiss on her forehead. Her scent still pulled at him like always.

Without warning, he shifted his posture, one knee sinking into the mattress as he leaned in and pressed her down. One hand held her shoulder while the other lifted her chin, enveloping her in his embrace as he kissed her with fierce urgency.

Elena gasped, caught off guard by his sudden action.

Wesley kissed her harder, his intensity growing as he parted her lips, leaving her breathless.

The air seemed to heat up as her body instinctively leaned back.

Wesley devoured the moment, kissing her like a man possessed, only drawing back when his hunger eased, though his eyes still burned with longing.

Elena’s breathing was uneven, her chest rising and falling as she tried to steady herself, but he moved in again before she could fully recover. She swiftly raised her hand, pressing it to his chest. “Don’t you think you’ve been a bit too excessivetely?”

Wesley’s eyes gleamed with quiet mischief, his voice low and rough. “Excessive?”

A deepugh vibrated through him, the sound sexy. “You really think once every three days counts as excessive?” he teased, a faint smirk ying at his lips.

He caught her hand and slowly guided it downward, his expression darkening with intent. “Maybe the better question is—has it been enough?”

Her fingers brushed against something hot and rigid. A flush crept up her face, and she froze, her thoughts scattering. Wesley took the moment to slip his hand beneath her pajama top, tracing along her waist before easing past the band of her underwear.

Her body went still. She parted her lips to speak, but he cut her off with another kiss.

His voice dropped lower, ced with amusement. “Don’t pretend you don’t want me. You’re already wet.”

In the next second, her pajamasnded in a heap on the floor. The room dimmed as Wesley reached over and switched off the overhead light, leaving only the bedsidemp casting a warm glow.

The silence soon gave way to the quiet, unmistakable rhythm of bodies moving together.

By morning, Elena stirred in a room still heavy with the scent of the night before.

Wesley was already up, speaking in a hushed tone on the phone. Today was the day of theb’s team meeting. After getting ready, Elena headed straight there.

Webster had been counting down to this moment. The second Elena walked in, he greeted her with a sneer. “Well, look who finally decided to show up. I figured you’d be too scared.”

Elena’s absence the day before had only strengthened his belief that she was trying to dodge him. Confident she couldn’tplete the automated recognition and counter-tracking system, he’d even invited members from other departments to witness what he was certain would be a disaster.

Within minutes, the conference room was full.

Wearing a smug grin, Webster said, “A day like this calls for an audience, don’t you think? Surely you’re not getting cold feet, Elena?”

Elena answered evenly, “Not at all.”

Just as she prepared to begin her presentation, Webster cut in again. “Wait. If your program crashes, you leave the Azure Dragon Unit Base on your own. We don’t make room for dead weight.”
