Chapter 957

    ?Chapter 957:

At the Azure Dragon Unit Base, Elena suddenly sneezed. Someone must have been talking about her behind her back.

Wesley noticed and, without a word, slipped off his coat. He wrapped it around her shoulders, pulling her into the solid warmth of his embrace. His body heat enveloped her like a shield.

This afternoon, Wesley found himself unexpectedly idle. He skipped going to the office, ignored his usual remote tasks, and spent the day lounging leisurely indoors.

Elena turned to him, puzzled. “You’re not heading out today?”

He twirled a lock of her dark hair between his fingers and answered in a breezy tone, “It’s too dangerous—everyone’s hunting me.”

She stared at him in disbelief. Seeing him sprawled so carelessly, who could possibly believe he was worried about assassins? To her, it felt more like he was using the threat as an excuse to ck off.

She shrugged him off and made a move to leave—training couldn’t wait. Scarface had made it to the, and his arrival could be any moment now. She knew she couldn’t afford to let her reflexes dull any further.

Wesley had no intention of training himself, yet he refused to let Elena do so either. He lifted her up without warning and settled her right back onto hisp.

Annoyed, Elena pressed a hand to his chin and pushed his face away as he leaned closer. “Wesley Spencer!”

Instead of backing off, Wesley let out a quietugh. His eyes gleamed, dark and unreadable, as he studied her face.

Elena blinked, confused. What was he finding so funny?

Almost like he’d heard the question in her head, he spoke. “You’re gettingfortable saying my name now.”

She no longer feared him. She called him by his full name without hesitation. But he didn’t mind at all. She wasn’t some fragile girl raised under ss, and still, he cherished her in his own way—patient, careful, letting her grow wild and fearless under his watch. He had worked long and hard for this—for her to drop the formality and call him by his first name.

Elena didn’t understand what pleased him so much, but her ears warmed anyway. She tried to stand, but he held her down, firm and unmoving.

His expression shifted—eyes darkening, his voice dropping to a rough whisper. “Don’t move.”

She stiffened in an instant—something solid was pressing against her. Seriously? He was turned on even now?

Elena felt something firm and warm pressing against her bottom. As she shifted slightly, it became all too clear—pressing right along the inside of her thigh. She lowered her gaze and shot Wesley a sharp re.

Wesley loungedzily on the sofa, one brow arching smugly. “I told you not to move.”

Elena had no words. He was bing bolder by the day. She sat there frozen, her back stiff, careful not to let herself settle fully into hisp. His flirtatious side had returned before his wound had even fully healed.

After a long moment, frustration crept into her voice as she said, “Why don’t you just take care of it yourself? The bathroom’s right there.” Wesley’s eyes gleamed dangerously for a second. She really had the nerve to tell him to handle it on his own. But he didn’t budge. He stayed exactly where he was.

Elena gave him a small push. “Come on. I still need to do my workout.” Not bothering to wait for his reply, she turned and walked straight out of the living room.
