Chapter 955

    ?Chapter 955:

Jeffry had seen her go in and decided to join her. They had tried their hand at the pottery wheel, ughing as they molded the y and added paint. Each of them had crafted a mug by the end.

This one was hers. His still sat untouched in the living room cab. Those mugs remained among the rare fond memories they still had.

For a moment, Lydia didn’t move. Jeffry took that as a sign. His tone shifted, the edge still there but dulled. “I know you’re angry. But if you’re willing toe back, we can put everything behind us. Nothing has to change.”

A hollowugh slipped from Lydia’s lips—sharp, short, cold.

Then, she lifted the mug and hurled it down.

The mug shattered on impact, shards scattering across the tiled floor. One jagged piece sliced Jeffry’s hand, drawing blood.

But Jeffry didn’t flinch. His eyes remained fixed on Lydia, stormy and unblinking.

Her expression was cial. “I’m not pathetic enough to be your mistress.”

Jeffry’s jaw clenched. The tendons in his hand flexed, splitting the wound further—blood streamed from the deepening cut. He pressed his lips into a tight line, forcing the fury back down. His voice lowered, steady but cold. “She and I are nothing more than business associates. The marriage—it’s just a formality. I’ve never touched her.”

“So what?” Lydia fired back, her tone cutting sharply. “Am I supposed to give you a medal for keeping it in your pants?”

Jeffry’s gaze fell, and a chill settled over him, making the air around him feel heavier.

Lydia’s smirk curled bitterly. Her voice slowed to a deliberate pace, each word soaked in contempt. “You say the marriage means nothing, but byw, she’s still your wife. You belong to someone else. What makes you think I’d ever want a man with a ring tied to another woman?”

His fists clenched. His breath grew heavier. His face clouded over. He had once beenposed, courteous—the kind who spoke softly and never let his temper slip.

But Lydia was done holding back. “Yeah, I once loved you. Big deal. Haven’t we all fallen for the wrong guy when we didn’t know better? I did love you. Doesn’t mean I can’t move on and love someone else. So save your noble speeches. You’re already stained in my mind. All that’s left is disgust.”

Let your imagination soar with g?lnσν???s

Emotion swelled in her chest, but she forced it down. He didn’t deserve the satisfaction of seeing her break. She gathered thest of her belongings, turned without pause, and walked out.

Silence pressed in as soon as she left.

Blood slipped from Jeffry’s fingertips, forming a slow, crimson pool on the floor. He didn’t move. His shoulders were still. His head bowed. His expression gave nothing away.

The roomy in disarray around him.

Just then, lightning tore through the sky outside, followed by deep, rumbling thunder. Momentster, rain crashed down in heavy sheets, drumming against the pavement. The storm came hard. Wind surged through the trees, flinging debris into the air and filling it with the sharp tang of wet soil.

Driving in this would be reckless.

Lydia had only cracked the front door open when Jeffry stepped in and pushed it closed.

She scowled. “Get out of my way.”

“Not till the rain eases,” he said. Even if she couldn’t stand the sight of him, he wouldn’t let her take off into a storm like this—not while she was still that rattled.
