Chapter 846

    ?Chapter 846:

Kason maintained hisposure, unaffected by Wesley’s daunting aura.

Kason said firmly, “I was speaking to Elena.” His message was implicit: he had approached Elena, and Wesley had no grounds to intervene. Wesley understood the challenge, responding with a cold smirk, “She’s with me.”

Turning to Elena, Kason awaited her reply, his expression full of expectation.

Joining the military research institute held little appeal for Elena. However, she suddenly recalled her mentor’s significant military connections. This could be her chance to reconnect with him. This realization made her reconsider Kason’s proposal.

Before Elena could articte her thoughts, Wesley seemed to anticipate them. He sped her hand tightly, his look sharp with a warning.

Wesley was convinced of Kason’s intentions to lure Elena away. He wouldn’t allow it—not while he was around.

Wesley’s expression hardened as he watched Elena, ready to intervene at the slightest agreement from her.

Elena’s brow furrowed, puzzled by Wesley’s resistance to her potential involvement with the institute. His objection made little sense—her choice should not impact him.

She tried to withdraw her hand, but Wesley’s hold only strengthened with her movement.

Elena struggled to maintain herposure, nearly rolling her eyes in exasperation. What was he making such a fuss about?

Her frown deepened as she red at Wesley, silently ordering him to release her hand. However, Wesley did not relent. Instead, he leaned closer and whispered a warning into her ear, “Remember, you are bound by a contract with Edgewing.”

Frustrated, Elena clicked her tongue, feeling trapped yet determined to locate her mentor.

    ???????????????? ??????????????: ?????????ν??????﹒?????

It seemed Wesley had a knack for reading her mind. Cutting her off before she could reply, he made an enticing offer. “I know your mentor’s whereabouts. Decline Kason’s proposal, and I’ll provide the information you seek.”

Elena’s expression grew more focused as she scrutinized Wesley’s face, looking for any hint of deception. Wesley looked directly into her eyes, his demeanor calm and unshaken. Elena raised an eyebrow. Could Wesley truly have uncovered her mentor’s location? Holding back her excitement, she chose to trust Wesley, at least for the moment. Decisively, she said to Kason, “I appreciate your offer, but I am not interested in joining the military research institute currently.”

Kason’s initial disappointment was fleeting. He regained hisposure swiftly. “Take your time. You have three days to consider. Let me know then.”

Seeming anxious about another refusal, Kason quickly excused himself and left.

With Kason out of earshot, Elena pressed Wesley. “What have you discovered?”

Wesley didn’t hesitate. He revealed to her that her mentor was the leader of the Azure Dragon Unit. He had nned to reveal this earlier, but Kason’s presence had forced him to do so now.

To reassure her, Wesley gently ced his hand on her waist, speaking with calcted emphasis. “Elena, to find your mentor, you only need me. I can be of more help than Kason, do you understand?” His advice was clear—she should cease her meetings with Kason.
