Chapter 841

    ?Chapter 841:

Up until now, it had just been empty threats. She hadn’t been harmed—yet. But Elena’s expression made one thing clear. She wasn’t bluffing.

Sylvia hung suspended in the air, gripping Elena’s hand with all her strength, terrified that she was seconds from falling. Up there, the wind whipped around them, and her fear of heights took full control. Every breath came faster than thest. Her legs were jelly.

Only after watching Sylvia fall apart did Elena finally yank her back onto the balcony. As soon as her feet hit the floor, Sylvia copsed, too shaken to even sit up straight.

Elena stared down at her. “If anything happens to She—even the slightest scratch—you’ll regret ever going up against me. Do you get that?”

Sniffling and still in a daze, Sylvia gave a hesitant nod. She continued to shake, gripped by the fear that Elena might snap and actually go through with it.

Sylvia sat on the floor like a rag doll, her tangled hair falling over her face as bitterness wed at her chest. But she didn’t dare challenge Elena again. There was something wild in Elena’s eyes—something dangerous. She looked like a woman who’d set the world on fire just to feel the warmth.

Sylvia pushed herself upright, swaying as she rose. Her eyes burned with fury as she stared at Elena, but she said nothing. The fear of another confrontation silenced her. With no dignity left to cling to, she turned and walked away, humiliated.

Elena sneered, the corners of her mouth twitching with disdain. Sylvia had forced her hand. Everyst one of the Reed family was the same—maniptive and foolish, always pushing her past her limits. As soon as Sylvia disappeared, Elena rinsed the tension off her hands and sat down to eat as if nothing had happened.

The moment Sylvia stepped back into Foiclens, reality came crashing down on her—running away hadn’t fixed a thing. With no one left to turn to, she was left digging through the dregs, desperate for any legal help she could get her hands on.

Her bank ount was empty. Worse, her livestreaming ount had been banned for good. That was her only ie, and it was gone.

Panicked and desperate, she listed her brand-new designer handbag online. It had cost her over six hundred grand, but she let it go for a measly hundred and sixty thousand.

Watching the numbers drop nearly broke her, but she needed the money. Without it, she couldn’t even get awyer to take her call. Bitterness consumed her. If it weren’t for Elena, none of this would’ve happened.

Sylvia’s gaze lingered on the barely-used handbag, and an ache twisted in her chest like a vice tightening with each breath. “Elena is such a bitch! Why won’t she just vanish already?”

Grabbing the nearest pillow, she hurled it across the room, her teeth clenched so hard that her jaw throbbed.

Back when Sylvia rejoined the Reed family, she had pictured silk sheets and champagne mornings. She never imagined she’d be pawning her belongings just to scrape by. That cruel irony was more than she could bear.

Had she never learned about her blood ties to the Reed family—had she never tasted wealth’s fleeting sweetness—maybe she could’ve endured a normal life.

But she had tasted the luxury of Foiclens’s upper crust and grown used to thefort that came with their extravagant way of life. Now, the idea of slipping into poverty felt like a punishment too cruel to endure.
