Chapter 768

    ?Chapter 768:

Given that A Dream Within a Dream was Elena’s creative endeavor, she was eager to attend. “Of course,” she responded with a nod.

Louis yfully tousled her hair. “Ignore the trivialities. Rest well tonight. Tomorrow, we’ll head to the movie together.”

Elena appreciated his concern, knowing he thought she might be upset over the dress situation. However, she resolved not to let such a minor incident affect her. After all, Evelyn had paid the demanded five hundred thousand, and she was no worse off financially.

“Thanks, Louis. I appreciate that.” Elena paused and then added, “I’ll design a new dress for you, my treat this time.”

Louis nearly choked on hisughter, charmed by his sister’s pragmatic yet generous spirit. “Much appreciated, Elena. Remember, I’m here for whatever you need.”

While Elena likely wouldn’t need to take up his offer, she acknowledged his support with a nod.

When the day of the movie premiere arrived, the cinema buzzed with a packed house.

Everyone hade together to see A Dream Within a Dream light up the screen. A good number were die-hard fans of Lena’s books, while the rest had shown up with one goal in mind—to catch a glimpse of Louis.

Elena, catching sight of Louis disguised in a mask and hat, and Kiera’s curious gaze, mused that they stood out in this crowd.

Louis, having secured their tickets beforehand, led Elena and Kiera past the ticket checkpoint into the theater.

With the theater packed so tightly, the small-framed Kiera was nearly carried off by the surge of the crowd.

Louis, his view partly blocked by the hat, struggled more than usual to keep tabs on Elena and Kiera.

Elena leaned in and murmured, “Keep an eye on Kiera. I’ll make my way to our seats.”

Before Louis could respond, Elena was already being swept along by the bustling crowd.

Louis’s worry deepened as he noticed Kiera hadn’t yet followed. Reflecting on the bustling crowd, Louis regretted his decision to bring them. He leveraged his height, pushing through the crowd to rescue Kiera, now cornered by the surge of moviegoers.

This was a novel experience for Kiera, her first cinema visit. Previously, her hearing impairment and her aunt’s overprotectiveness had limited her from going out. Louis’s invitation had sparked immense excitement in her.

As Kiera made her way there, excitement had buzzed through her for every part of the experience. But the moment she saw the cinema crammed wall to wall, the thrill had given way to a wave of exhaustion she hadn’t seening.

Kiera, burdened by her social anxiety, had struggled to steer clear of the swarm of people, and in no time, she had lost track of both Louis and Elena. Elena… Louis… Where could they have disappeared to?

Ovee with fear and self-doubt, Kiera wondered if she was always a burden. In her moment of distress, suddenly, forting hands found hers.

Before she could grasp what was happening, a hat was gently ced on her head, and she found herself enveloped in a protective embrace. “Follow me,” said a voice she instantly recognized.

Kiera, still dazed, was guided through the bustling crowd by Louis, who shielded her effectively.

Her hand sped in his, she felt the reassuring pressure of his chest against her shoulder, causing her heart to flutter unexpectedly, warmth spreading to her ears. She blinked nervously, tension gripping her without understanding, her breaths growing shallow.
