?Chapter 752:
A nce toward the empty seat beside him, Wesley spoke again. “This one’s better.”
Not seeing the harm in it, Elena shifted directions and took the seat next to him without a fuss.
That small gesture was all it took to soften his features.
Turning to him, she asked, “So what’s wrong with the school and hospital designs?”
Wesley didn’t hesitate. “Nothing at all. Everything’s in order.”
Her expression tightened, the answer not sitting right with her. What was the real reason he’d called her here?
Reading the confusion in her eyes, Wesley said, “Construction’s already started on the ind using your ns. But putting up buildings isn’t enough. We still need to find qualified teachers and doctors.”
That part wasn’t news to Elena—she had already ounted for it.
“To make the offer more appealing, I’ll double the sries. That should bring in good candidates.”
Without a word, Wesley began tapping his fingers lightly against the armrest, his gaze dropping, his expression giving nothing away. Every detail had been anticipated. She hadn’t missed a step.
His jaw tensed slightly as he kept his lips pressed into a thin line.
Elena tilted her head. “Is there something else you haven’t told me?”
No response from Wesley came right away. The cabin had gone eerily still, and from the corner of his eyes, he noted the jet had begun to ascend.
Wesley turned toward her, a faint smirk tugging at his lips. “You seem eager to leave.”
Any protest would have been pointless. The ne had already left the ground.
Elena frowned, unsettled by his choice of words.
Without warning, Wesley leaned in, drawing in the faint herbal scent that clung to her—a soft, clean fragrance that seemed to slip under his skin, wrapping around his senses like a drug he hadn’t known he needed.

A subtle squint crept into his gaze as he leaned closer, the height of his frame casting a faint shadow over Elena.
With a low, raspy voice, he said, “Elena, I’ve followed your vision for the ind project. Don’t you think I’ve earned a little something in return?”
Her brows drew together. “You already have everything.”
A quietugh slipped from Wesley’s lips, ced with amusement. “So because I’ve got it all, you won’t give me anything?”
That was exactly how she saw it, though she chose not to say so. After all, bringing the hospital and school to life had demanded every bit of her energy—physically and mentally.
She asked, “What are you really after, Wesley?”
Wesley’s eyes flickered. His gaze fixed on her, dark and intense, as if he were memorizing every detail of her face. Then came his request, voice rougher than before. “I want to hold you. That’s all.”
In an instant, the air between them thickened, charged with something unspoken.
Elena went still.
Without giving her the chance to pull away, Wesley leaned closer and wrapped her in his arms. His breathing grew uneven, chest rising just a bit faster as the space between them disappeared.
