?Chapter 750:
Quick to clear things up, he said, “Hey, don’t misunderstand. It’s not for me—”
“No need to justify it,” Elena interjected smoothly. “People have their quirks. If you’re into that, I’m not here to judge.”
This left Louispletely speechless. Did she seriously think he had a thing for wearing dresses? The misunderstanding couldn’t have been worse.
Choking on disbelief, he said, “What are you thinking? It’s not for me. It’s a gift!”
Elena barely reacted. “Oh.”
He couldn’t tell if she bought it or just didn’t care. With a silent sigh, he pressed his lips together, caught somewhere between exasperation and disbelief. “Where are you even getting these ridiculous ideas? I swear, I need to sit Javier down and figure out what kind of nonsense he’s been filling your head with…”
Meanwhile, somewhere else entirely, Javier let out a sudden sneeze. “Huh? About to catch a cold?” he muttered to himself.
Javier blinked, clearly lost, scanning the room before locking eyes with Louis, who looked anything but pleased.
“Why are you looking at me like that?” Javier asked, his eyebrows drawn together in total confusion. In his mind, he had done nothing out of line—just enjoyed a blue lobster. Maybe Louis wanted one too? Then it clicked. So that was it—Louis must be craving blue lobster as well!
Javier grabbed one nearly the size of his hand and ced it onto Louis’s te, grinning as if he had just performed an act of great generosity. “Here you go. Consider it a gift from the heart.”
Louis waspletely speechless. How could anyone be this dense? Without a word, he slid the te right back, his expression radiating disgust. “Knock yourself out. Eat everyst one.”

Something seemed to cross Elena’s mind. She tilted her head slightly. “By the way, when’s Ellis getting here?”
Today was big for Ellis—he had an experiment scheduled and nned to drop by once it wrapped up.
A nce at his watch told Louis it was already past eleven. “He should be arriving any minute now,” he said.
Right on cue, Ellis arrived just as the conversation wrapped up. Without wasting a word, he gave Elena a small nod before walking straight over to Jeffry.
A sleek gift box in hand, Ellis offered it to his older brother. “Congrattions on the wedding, Jeffry.”
Jeffry pped a hand on Ellis’s shoulder, grinning. “The experiment’s behind you now. Make sure you get some rest.”
Ellis gave a faint nod in reply. He fully intended to. Ever since Elena came back, the research institute had been under heavy pressure, juggling critical projects. Now that the recent hurdle was behind them, he could finally take a breather and spend a few days at home. For Elena, Ellis had brought a small signal device—one…
