    Jeffry frowned, a hint of annoyance in his voice. “No backup dress?”


    “Nope, just this one.”


    Evelyn sighed dramatically. “This dress was custom-made for me by Fannie. I absolutely adore it. No other dress evenes close.”


    Evelynmented inwardly. Who could have seen thising? It was all Ste’s fault! If Ste hadn’t been so hung up on Wesley and Elena’s rtionship, she wouldn’t have dragged people in to see the dress and forgotten to close the venttion. Her precious wedding dress was ruined because of it!


    Even though Jolie was pissed off about the Morgans’ earlier spectacle, she didn’t want the wedding to be aplete disaster.


    “What are we going to do? There’s no bridal shop on this ind,” Jolie said, her voiceced with worry.


    Elena, who had been silently observing the whole mess, finally spoke up calmly when she saw that both Jolie and Jeffry were stressed about the dress. “With a few tweaks, this dress can still be salvaged.”


    Evelyn scrunched up her nose, clearly disgusted. “How do you expect me to wear this filthy wedding dress? Are you trying to embarrass me on purpose?”


    The wedding dress, which had once been bright white, was now covered in blue and yellow paint stains, making it lookpletely dirty. Still, it wasn’t beyond saving.


    Elena took a quick look at the dress, ideas already forming in her head. “Do you have another choice right now?” Elena asked, her face calm and unreadable.


    Evelyn knew she had no other option. Her hands balled into fists, and she red at Elena with resentment. “Are you really going to alter Fannie’s design?”

    Fannie was a famous fashion designer, known all over the world. How could Elena even think about changing something Fannie made? If the dress were ruined, it would mean damaging a piece of art.


    Evelyn pressed on, “This dress is covered in paint and can’t be worn like this. But after the wedding, we could take it back to the and get the stains cleaned so it will look perfect again. However, if you cut and alter it, this perfect creation will be ruined… Elena, are you sure you want to do this? If Fannie asks about it, who will take responsibility?”


    Elena didn’t pause for even a moment. “I’ll take full responsibility,” she said confidently.


    Evelyn was beyond angry. How could Elena possibly handle the consequences? What power did she even have?


    Evelyn shook with anger but didn’t try to stop Elena. If Elena wanted to make a mistake, she would let her.


    Fannie would be arriving shortly, and once she saw her design damaged, she would definitely me Elena. Evelyn couldn’t wait to see how Elena would deal with that.


    Evelyn believed that if Elena ruined her one and only wedding dress, the Harper family would feel sorry for her. Jolie would probably give her a generous gift to make up for it, and even Jeffry might start treating her better. It was stupid of Elena to mess with Fannie’s dress just to prove a point.
