    Frustrated, Theo paced in tight circles, muttering under his breath and cursing Elena for herck of taste.

    Elena remained unfazed. This wasn’t the first time Theo had pulled something like this. At the Spencer Group, Theo had spread the same venom about Wesley.


    Faced with Elena’s indifference, Theo clenched his teeth in frustration. “I’m not making this up. Everyone who gets close to Wesley ends up suffering. He once had a cat—and he strangled it with his bare hands. Wesley is nothing but bad luck. His mother died giving birth to him. No one in his life meets a good end.     “I won’t regret it. But you…” Elena tilted her head and motioned toward the door. “You are about to regret it.”
