Chapter 1113

    ?Chapter 1113:

The fighting froze. The messenger’s guards stiffened, weapons still mid-air, caught between obedience and disbelief.

Seizing the opportunity, Amon raised his arm and barked orders to his men. They flooded the room, swiftly disarming and restraining the attackers.

Within minutes, the messenger and his forces were overpowered and dragged away. Though the immediate threat had passed, the atmosphere in the room remained razor-tight.

Amon approached, grim-faced. “Your Highnesses,” he began, eyes sweeping across the group, “while patrolling the outskirts, I discovered that Marehelm has been surrounded. I sensed something was wrong and returned immediately. Clearly, my instincts were correct.”

I exhaled slowly, dread blooming in my chest like cold fire. “The king knows. He’s uncovered the truth about Cody’s death, and about the werewolf forest. That means my identity won’t stay hidden much longer. What’sing… it won’t be easy.”

Dayton dropped into a chair, looking as if the breath had been knocked from him. His voice was barely audible. “What are we supposed to do now? We can’t go head-to-head with the king’s army. If theyunch a full-scale attack on Marehelm, we don’t stand a chance.”

Bryan frowned, deep in thought. “Our father didn’te unprepared. This was well nned.”

I pressed my hands together, nails biting into my skin as I fought the rising panic.

We were outnumbered. Outmaneuvered. And possibly out of time. What were we supposed to do?

Then yton moved beside me and reached for my hand. “Makenna, don’t be afraid. We’ve been preparing for this moment for a long time. Whatever happens, I promise—we won’t let anything happen to you.”

“But we’re surrounded,” I whispered. “What if we’re not ready? What if this is too much?”

Dominic stepped forward, his eyes glinting with a quiet, ruthless determination. “We’ve been building our strength in the shadows for years. There’s no guarantee we’ll lose to our father. He may think brute force is all it takes—but he’s wrong. He doesn’t know what we’ve be.”

Bryan nodded slowly, thoughtful now. “Still, we can’t sit idle. We need to act—fast. If we want a chance at surviving this, we have to rally others to our cause. We can’t stand alone.”

His gaze shifted to me then. “Makenna, we need Pa and the other white wolves. You have to speak with her again ASAP. Convince her to fully join our side. If we’re going to win this, we need her people with us.”

I took a deep breath and nodded. “I understand. I’ll talk to her—and I won’te back without her answer.”

“Okay. Waiting for your good news.”

Bryan turned to Amon. “There’s no time to waste. Mobilize the troops. Prepare the city’s defenses. We hold our ground.”

Amon gave a sharp nod. “At once, Your Highness.”

Then he disappeared through the doors, already barking orders before he was out of sight.

After a brief exchange of farewells, I turned and left the living room, heading toward Pa’s quarters.
