Chapter 1048

    ?Chapter 1048:

Faced with my steadfast resolve, the three princes found little room to argue and reluctantly agreed.

Bryan was the first to give in, his voiceced with a yful yet defeated edge as he quipped, “Well, since you can’t bear the thought of being apart from me even for a second, I suppose you’ll just have to tag along.”

I shot him a disapproving look, my brow furrowing as I scolded, “This is a critical moment; how can you still treat it so lightly?”

Jett stepped closer then, resting aforting hand on my shoulder, his kind smile unwavering. “Makenna, don’t worry. We’ll protect the people of Marehelm and sort out the antidote as fast as we can. All we ask is that you make it back safely with the members of the white wolf n.”

His words stirred a quiet gratitude within me, and I gave a firm, earnest nod in response.

Seeing that we had reached an agreement, Dayton didn’t hesitate. He turned to the servant at his side and ordered briskly, “Go retrieve the pass for the werewolf forest.”

Momentster, the servant returned, breathless, and held out the pass.

With a subtle nce from Bryan, Amon stepped up to take it.

Preparationsplete, we set off toward the werewolf forest.

Bryan took the lead, his strides confident, while Dominic, yton, and I trailed just behind him. Partway along the journey, Bryan halted abruptly and turned to look at me with a serious expression. “Makenna, once we’re inside the forest, stay sharp. If trouble strikes, don’t hesitate—get out immediately and leave us to handle it.”

Dominic’s low, steady voice chimed in, reinforcing the point, “Your well-beinges first. We’ve got ways to manage whatever happens.”

yton, meanwhile, took my hand gently, his words tender but resolute. “Never forget that keeping you safe matters most to us.”

I sighed and nodded, a little exasperated. “I get it, you’ve drilled it into me so much it’s starting to sound like a scratched tune.”

But beneath my mild irritation, a deeper conflict churned. If I bolted at the first hint of danger, what im did I have to stand up for my n?

The trail to the werewolf forest soon became rougher, littered with jagged rocks and gnarled roots that twisted underfoot. Massive, ancient trees towered on either side, their thick canopies blocking out the sunlight and casting the path in heavy shadow. We moved carefully, each step deliberate.

The three princes stayed close to me, their vignce unwavering. Bryan led the way, clearing tangled branches that obstructed our path, while Dominic scanned the surroundings for any signs of trouble. yton, ever watchful, asionally murmured reminders to tread carefully. Shielded by their attention, I pressed on despite the fatigue weighing me down.

We had been walking for quite a while when, unexpectedly, the narrow trail widened into a more open area. Just as I was about to exhale in relief, two towering soldiers stepped into our path, halting us. Their bulky armor gleamed dully, and their stern faces held piercing, de-like gazes.

One of them moved forward, his tone cold as he demanded, “Who are you, and what is your business here?”

Without hesitation, Bryan stepped forward, hismanding presence undeniable. “I am Prince Bryan, here with authorization to enter the werewolf forest.”

    Amon quickly presented the pass.
