?Chapter 1032:
A thousand invisible des tore into me, leaving me raw and bleeding. My mind conjured the image against my will—her flushed cheeks, the way her body would tremble under another’s touch. The realization sent a wave of anguish crashing over me, drowning me in a torment I had no power to fight.
I turned to my brothers. Their fists clenched so tightly their knuckles had turned bone-white, veins standing out against the skin. The fury simmering beneath the surface was unmistakable.
None of us spoke. We simply stood there, united in the same silent, unbearable agony.
Makenna’s POV:
Our wild, untamed passion finally subsided as the night stretched into its deepest hours, leaving us spent and sated.
Jett, already weakened by his fragile state, sumbed to exhaustion after our fevered entanglement, drifting into a heavy slumber.
Weariness tugged at my bones as I slipped from the hospital bed, smoothing the rumpled sheets. I gathered the scattered clothes and put them on before stepping out of the room.
The moment I eased the door open, I froze. There stood the three princes, their eyes rimmed with red, swollen from unshed tears. They lingered there, still as statues, their gazes smoldering with raw emotion that pierced me like a de, squeezing my heart in a vise of guilt.
Their anguished expressions weighed on me, and I dipped my head, shame washing over me. “Have you… have you been out here the whole time?”
A thick, oppressive silence was their only reply.
After what felt like an eternity, yton’s lips parted, his voice rough and strained. “Makenna, do you care for Jett?”
I bit my lip, my insides a tangle of doubt and turmoil. “I… I’m not sure if it’s affection, but I owe him so much. He has been my savior, time and again, stepping in without a second thought when I was drowning in despair. I can’t turn a blind eye to what he feels for me anymore.”
?????????ν??????.??????, ???????? ???????????????? ????
Bryan surged forward, his voice cracking with reluctance. “And what about us? Where do we fit in your heart?”
I raised my eyes to meet their tormented faces, tears welling as my vision blurred.
“I’m so sorry…” My whisper trembled with self-reproach. “I’ve failed you as a mate. You have every right to resent me. Leave me,sh out, curse me—I deserve it. But I couldn’t stand by and let Jett’s life slip away.”
I drew a steadying breath, sweeping my gaze across their faces, summoning the strength to press on. “Since you’ve heard it all, what do you intend to do?”
My words reverberated down the empty corridor, thickening the already taut air.
I knew full well the depth of their possessiveness. Sharing me among themselves had been their ultimatepromise—how could they possibly stomach me entwined with someone else?
Jett, the wizard they loathed? When I chose to save Jett, I had braced myself for the worst. Whatever they decided now, I was ready to face the consequences.
The hallwayy shrouded in an eerie stillness, broken only by the sound of our ragged breaths.
My pulse thundered in my ears, each second stretching into an endless void.
Just as unease began to coil tighter within me, a warm hand slipped into mine, soothing the chaos of my racing heart.
