Chapter 1008

    ?Chapter 1008:

However, I managed to suppress the fear and feign nonchnce. With a smile, I asked, “What do you mean by this, Mr. Harrison? I’m just an ordinary person. Perhaps you’re getting on in years and have mistaken me for someone else?”

“It seems you can think on your feet,” Cody responded, a sh of malice in his eyes. Suddenly, he lunged forward, his fingers tightening around my throat, and I struggled to breathe.

The pressure on my neck increased, forcing the air out of my lungs bit by bit. My face flushed red, and I struggled desperately to pry his fingers off, but his grip was unbreakable.

“Still ying dumb? You can keep that up and see where it leads you,” Cody said, his face dangerously close to mine.

My vision began to blur, and my lungs felt like they might explode. My struggle only seemed to make things worse. Was I really going to die like this?

Just as I was about to pass out, Cody suddenly released my neck. I copsed to the floor, gasping for air. Each breath felt like fire in my lungs. At that moment, I realized that my identity was no longer a secret.

I raised my head and, in a hoarse voice, asked, “How did you find out who I was?”

As soon as I asked the question, my mind answered it. “Evelyn must have told you,” I said.

Cody smiled at this. “You seem to be quite clever. But I’m curious as to how you got Evelyn to ingest a rare and powerful potion from the Wizard n’s royalty to ensure she wouldn’t betray you. Where did you get that potion?”

Potion from the Wizard n’s royalty? This confused me, as I had no idea what he was talking about. Jett was an ordinary half-blood wizard. How could he have had ess to a royal potion? Was there any truth to what Cody was saying?

Cody narrowed his eyes, realizing I had no idea what he was talking about by the look on my face. “So, you don’t know?”

The next chapters are on ?????????ν??????o??

I quicklyposed myself and replied, “What does that have to do with you anyway? I should be asking how you managed to extract information from Evelyn.”

The potion Evelyn had taken should have made it impossible for her to betray us. How did Cody bypass the potion’s limitations?

Cody burst into triumphantughter upon hearing my question. He pped his hands, and the crisp sound echoed in the empty room. Immediately, two soldiers walked in, dragging a bloody figure. They threw the figure at my feet.

I screamed, frightened by the gruesome scene before me. The person was covered in blood and wounds. Blood poured continuously from her body.

“This is Evelyn,” Cody said, casually kicking the figure.

Evelyn, who had been unconscious, let out a piercing scream before passing out again.

The look on Cody’s face as he stared down at Evelyn’s broken body was one of admiration, as though she were a piece of art. “This is the fate of those who betray me,” Cody said, a satisfied smile on his face. The tone of his voice sent shivers down my spine.

    Cody’s POV:

With cold precision, I had my men inflict the most brutal tortures on Evelyn, turning her existence into a living hell and creating a clear warning for potential traitors.

Strategically using potent remedies ensured she lingered in suffering, denying her the escape that death would offer.
