    I looked away from him and continued, “If a werewolf loses their mate, it’ll mean excruciating pain for them and possibly even death. Is that a risk you’re willing to take?”


    “I’m not afraid. If that dayes, I’ll die with you,” Dominic said, his voice resolute.


    I sharply looked up at him, surprised to hear him say such a thing. There was no sign of jest in his eyes. They only held a determination that left me confused.


    I loved Dominic. That much was certain. However, was that love going to be enough to get us through the dangers ahead? I was uncertain about whether to ept his proposal.


    Dominic saw my hesitation. He took my hand in his and said, “Makenna, you love yton the most out of the three princes, and you have a child with Bryan. But me and you—we have nothing together.”


    “I do love you, Dominic,” I muttered, my voice barely audible.


    “That’s not enough,” Dominic said, shaking his head. “I want all of you. I want your love and future to belong to only me.”


    I opened my mouth to speak but quickly shut it, not knowing what to say. Dominic suddenly knelt on one knee, still holding my hand. With a solemn expression on his face, he raised his right hand and said, “I, Dominic Reeves, swear by the Moon Goddess to be bonded mates with Makenna Dunn. I pledge my eternal loyalty and protection to her and vow to never betray her trust in this lifetime. Through life and death, I will never leave her.”


    My heart tightened as a mixture of emotions, with shock being the most prominent, whirled within me. Finally, I raised my right hand and loudly said, “I, Makenna Dunn, swear by the Moon Goddess to be bonded mates with Dominic Reeves. Whether the path ahead be light or dark, I will live and die with him.”

    “Alright. I’ll be there soon,” I said, then got up and went to wash.


    After dressing, I opened the door and saw Jett, whose room was next door, stepping out as well.


    “Good morning,” I greeted with a radiant smile. However, my smile froze when I saw his face. His eyes were bloodshot, and there were bags under them. He looked worn out, as though he hadn’t slept all night.


    “What’s wrong with you? You look terrible. Didn’t you get any rest?” I asked, concern evident in my voice.


    Jett looked at me, a pained expression on his face. “Who was in your room with youst night? Was it one of those princes?”
