Chapter 852

    ?Chapter 852:

“Sir,” Manley asked eagerly as he approached Jett, “what exactly afflicts Mr. Pierce?”

A slight smile curved Jett’s lips as he exined with unwavering confidence, “He has been poisoned. Fortunately, I can treat his condition.”

Maia’s previously lifeless eyes brightened instantly, her face transformed by a surge of hope. Her breathing quickened as she whispered, “Really? That’s wonderful!”

“However,” Jett continued, “the antidote requires some exceedingly rare herbs—Dream Herb, Starfall Crystal, and Spirit Moon Root.” As he spoke, he carefully observed the changing expressions of both Manley and Maia. “You must gather them quickly. The longer the poison lingers in his system, the more difficult it will be to eradicate.”

Upon hearing the names of these exotic ingredients, Maia’s and Manley’s faces fell, the brief spark of hope dimming against harsh reality.

After a moment of heavy silence, Maia gritted her teeth and dered with steely resolve, “We can find them, but it will indeed take some time.”

Manley nodded in solemn agreement, though concern still etched deep lines across his face.

“No need for immediate worry,” Jett assured them. “I can prepare potions to temporarily stabilize the mayor’s condition. This will give you ample time to search for those herbs.”

Hearing this lifeline, Maia hurriedly bowed to Jett, tears of gratitude welling in her eyes. “Sir, we can never repay your kindness. Please, stay at our home and rest during these days.”

With that, Maia summoned the servants with a gentle gesture and instructed them to escort us to the guest quarters.

We followed the servants through abyrinth of ornate corridors until finally arriving at our amodations.

    ?????????? ????????: ?????????ν??????﹒??????

The guest quarters were nestled at the far edge of the mansion—isted and wrapped in silence. Even before reaching the doorway, the sight of stone-faced soldiers standing guard caught our attention, their vignt eyes tracking our every movement.

Wasn’t this level of security excessive? Then again, Maia’s caution made perfect sense. If I found myself in her position—a husband mysteriously poisoned and strangers iming they could help—I’d likely maintain the same vignce.

Once inside the room, I methodically checked each door and window, ensuring no prying ears lurked nearby. Only when satisfied with our privacy did I hurry to Jett’s side, my voice barely above a whisper. “What’s really happening with Dayton? Don’t keep me in the dark.”

Jett’s response came with unsettlingposure. “He was affected by a magic potion.”

    A magic potion?

My eyes widened in disbelief, the words tumbling out before I could stop them. “But this is werewolf territory. How could the mayor possibly fall victim to a magic potion?”

Jett’s expression darkened like storm clouds gathering on the horizon. His voice dropped to a grave timbre. “Not only that—this potion is extraordinarily rare. Only the…”

“The royal bloodline of the Wizard n possesses the knowledge to brew it. This situation runs deeper than it appears on the surface.”

    Makenna’s POV:

How on earth could Dayton’s illness have any ties to the Wizard n’s royal family?
