?Chapter 817:
Yet, who could have predicted the cruel twist that awaited me? The rebellion seeded, the throne was mine… and Josie vanished without a trace. For over two decades, I scoured thends, chasing whispers and shadows, only for her to elude me at every turn.
The memory of my fruitless search tightened my chest, and a cold, murderous light flickered in my eyes.
In my desperation, I nearly wiped the white wolf n from existence. The rivers ran red with their blood, and those who survived were shackled and locked away in the icy depths of the werewolf territory’s forest.
There, they endured endless interrogation under mymand. Day after day, I demanded the truth, convinced they held the key to Josie’s whereabouts. And now… another white wolf had appeared—right here, within the pce walls.
The realization sent a shiver racing down my spine.
Makenna. Who was she, truly? What thread connected her to Josie?
Whatever the cost, I had to uncover the truth. I had to capture her. And I had to tear her secrets from her lips.
Bryan’s POV:
With a heavy heart, I walked out of the grand hall alongside Dominic and yton, my father rampaging furiously behind us.
Crash! Crash! Crash!
The sounds of objects being broken made it clear that the white wolf had driven my father to the brink of madness.
I tiredly rubbed my temples.
A few days ago, I sent a team to the forest to investigate. The revtions brought back by the team had weighed heavily on me ever since.
Making my voice audible so the two beside me would hear, I said, “If the news brought back is true, then there is a deep-rooted hatred between Makenna and us. It would be incredibly difficult to resolve such a level of hatred between our two ns.”
?????????????? ???????????????????? ???????? g???????ν??????﹐?????
The frown on Dominic’s and yton’s faces deepened.
After a moment’s silence, yton finally smiled bitterly and said, “We are to be med. My main worry now is Makenna. I hope she is safe.”
His words were like a knife being stabbed into my heart. Images of her pained expression and how I almost lost her forever shed through my mind, leaving me in agony.
Dominic took a deep breath and said, “This is not the time to think about this. Makenna’s friends are still in the pce. If they are captured by Father, he would use them as leverage against her. We must get them out of the pce before Father acts.”
His words were like a rion call, instantly clearing the chaotic thoughts in my head and bringing rity.
“You’re right,” I said. “Not just that, but we also need to find a way to sabotage our father’s search for Makenna. If Makenna falls into his hands, the consequences will be disastrous.”
Judging from my father’s reaction today, if Makenna were caught, he would order her death.
Dominic and yton nodded in agreement.
The three of us moved away from the entrance of the grand hall, and the noise behind us gradually dwindled.
After a thoughtful silence, Dominic said, “I’ve already arranged for people to obstruct our father’s pursuit of Makenna. However, there is still one urgent matter to address.”
