?Chapter 796:
Then his expression twisted into a vicious one, and he roared, “Dare you hit me, Makenna? Do you want to die?”
I let out a coldugh. Then, I grabbed a nearby vase and hurled it at Antoni.
Not expecting such a reaction, he was too slow in dodging. The vase crashed into his shoulder with a loud thud.
Antoni screamed in pain as the vase made impact with his shoulder.
Coldly, I shouted, “Get away from me, or I’ll kill you!”
Antoni was shaken by my ferocious response. His eyes filled with hatred as he clutched his injured shoulder.
“This isn’t over, Makenna,” he spat, and then beat a hasty retreat.
I heaved a sigh of relief as I watched him go.
Thank goodness Antoni had been interrupted before he could find out my secret. But what about the special aphrodisiac he mentioned?
A grim expression crossed my face as I turned and made my way to Rosaline’s house. When I arrived, I saw Rosaline.
Her face immediately lit up with a warm smile when she saw me. “Why have youe so suddenly? Are you here to see Winfred?”
The sense of urgency within me didn’t allow me to respond to her warmth. Instead, I anxiously asked, “Where’s Jett?”
“I’m here,” Jett answered leisurely behind me. “You seem to be in a hurry. What’s the matter?” he asked.
I turned around to see Jett standing, arms crossed, behind me. I hurriedly recounted what Antoni had just told me.
Jett’s usually calm andposed expression grew grim as he listened to my words.
???????? ???????????? ???? ?????????????????????????
Worriedly, I asked, “Do you know what kind of potion that is, Jett?”
“Not exactly. But I’ve heard of it,” Jett replied with a frown. “It’s extremely rare and almost impossible to…”
“Find it, as the process of creating it is fraught with numerous difficulties. Where did Antoni get it from?”
My heart sank upon hearing this, and I asked, “Is there an antidote?”
Jett shook his head.
Growing even more desperate, I pressed on, “Can’t you make an antidote? You’re not just any wizard. You’re an expert in potions!”
Jett sighed and said, “I’m not well-versed in this kind of potion. It’s too obscure and mysterious. However, I can do some research on it. There should be some books on potions in the Lycan library. Maybe I can find some clues.”
My eyes lit up at this. Perhaps a solution could be found.
“However, the Lycan library is tightly guarded. It’s impossible to get in without permission. I’ll need your help,” Jett said.
Taken aback by his request, I asked, “Don’t you have a potion that allows you to disguise yourself? Why not disguise yourself as one of the princes? That should help you get in.”
“Posing as a Lycan prince is too dangerous. The princes have a special status and are closely watched. Any mistake could get us caught. Besides, the disguise potion is rare and should not be wasted.”
I sighed resignedly. I understood his reasoning.
“I guess we’vee to a dead end,” I said, defeat evident in my tone.
Jett smirked and said, “I didn’t say I wasn’t going to disguise myself as someone else. Evie is a good choice.”
