Chapter 753

    ?Chapter 753:

“Forget it,” Bryan muttered, rubbing his temples in weariness. “Makenna, rest for now. We’ll sort this out once you’re feeling better.”

With that, they began to turn, heading toward the door.

But as I watched them walk away, Jett’s words haunted me, swirling in my mind like an insistent storm. A flood of doubt surged inside me, and I called out, my voice carrying a cold edge, “Wait!”

They stopped in their tracks, and I pressed on, my gaze turning sharp. “What really happened between the Lycan royal family and the white wolf n? Did the white wolves truly rebel?”

At my question, all three of them froze, their expressions shifting to confusion and surprise.

yton was the first to respond, his voiceced with bewilderment. “Makenna, why are you asking about this now, of all times?”

I met their gazes with a chill in my own. I wasn’t ready to share the truth. “No reason. I just want to know what really happened.”

Bryan didn’t hesitate to answer, his wordsced with certainty. “This was long before we were born. But if the white wolves hadn’t rebelled, why would our father have acted so ruthlessly?”

I turned to Dominic, waiting for his perspective. Dominic remained silent, his eyes mirroring Bryan’s, as if in some unspoken agreement, telling me without a word that what Bryan had said was the reality I had to ept. A sharp pain stabbed at my chest as I slowly closed my eyes.

It wasn’t just doubt and suspicion that separated us now; it was an unspoken hatred, an abyss between us that I couldn’t begin to understand or bridge.

When I opened my eyes again, I struggled to suppress the sorrow that threatened to drown me. My voice was ice-cold as I forced the words out. “You should go. I never want to see you again. It’s over between us.”

    Makenna’s POV:

After uttering those cruel words, I copsed onto the bed, cocooning myself in the nkets.

I dared not nce at them, not even for a fleeting moment, terrified that one look would cause me to rethink everything.

In the darkness of my self-imposed sanctuary, tears flowed relentlessly, soaking the pillow beneath me.

At that moment, it felt as if a thousand needles were stabbing my heart, the pain slowly unraveling through my veins, seeping into every corner of my being.

The ache in my chest was unbearable, yet when I thought of the irreparable rift between us, I crushed that longing with ruthless finality, leaving only the bitter taste of emptiness.

“Makenna…” Bryan’s voice pierced the silence, tinged with pain. It seemed as if there were countless things he wanted to say, but in the end, silence prevailed.

yton’s voice, soft but heavy with resignation, followed. “Makenna, you’re probably just too emotional right now. We’ll talk when you’re calmer.”

Dominic’s usual calm voice betrayed a rare hint of emotion. “Yes, we’ll talk when you’re feeling better.”

Then, the quiet click of the door closing echoed in the empty room.

And then, all that remained was the muffled sound of my suppressed sobs.

The next two days unfolded in an unexpected peace. As promised, the three princes kept their distance. Only the maids and doctors came and went, tending to me, bringing meals, changing my bandages, and checking on the healing of my wound.
