Chapter 1086

    ?Chapter 1086:

“Are you not tired?” Edwin asked, ncing at Ellie’s pregnant belly.

He had heard that pregnant women often get hungry. Was Ellie feeling hungry?

Ellie shook her head. “I was probably tired because of the stuffy air inside the venue.”

She then made a reservation at a nearby eatery.

This ce didn’t have private rooms, but it did have small semi-enclosed spaces separated by screens.

May assisted in serving food into Ellie’s bowl since she couldn’t see.

After Ellie had taken a few bites, her fork came to a sudden stop.

She didn’t like scallions, and usually, May made sure to avoid them on her te. But today, had May forgotten?

Ellie enjoyed chicken, but not the breast part; however, May had given her chicken breast.

She kept her thoughts to herself and didn’t show any reaction.

June was always on high alert and spotted a familiar man sitting a short distance away.

He wore a ck silk shirt, didn’t have a mask on, and his striking features and sharp facial contours were clearly visible.

His normally icy eyes were now fixed intently on the woman next to June.

His stare was intense and unsettling, as if he wanted to consume her.

June quickly turned her head away.

Kaiden was acting like a stalker, for crying out loud.

After Ellie and her group left, Kaiden approached.

He remembered the way May had used her fork and took note of Ellie’s favorite dishes.

In Ellie’s bowl, there was still half a bowl of soup left.

Driven by some strange impulse, Kaiden sat down and used the spoon Ellie had just used to drink the remaining soup, spoonful by spoonful.

The soup, now cold and slightly distasteful, didn’t bother him in the least.

    Fresh updates loaded gα?ησν????s?c?m

In fact, he felt it brought him closer to Ellie.

Kaiden snapped back to reality, realizing what he had just done, and sat there in a daze. He let out a sigh of defeat and self-mockery.

In the car, Freddy insisted on walking Ellie to her door, iming it was proper for a subordinate to see the boss home.

“You’re being so considerate now. Why didn’t you offer to help when I went up to get the award?” Ellie asked, leaning back in her seat. She felt sleepy. Freddy’s presence had already made her stand out, and then Edwin and Omiros had made her even more prominent.

“Wasn’t your husband there? Why would I need to go?” Freddy grumbled.

“But why didn’t Mr. Thorpe help you onto the stage? It was that pretty boy instead.” Freddy recognized Edwin, and the “pretty boy” he was referring to was Omiros.

“Kaiden was the one who helped me from the audience?” Ellie inquired. She straightened up. Her tone was more derative than questioning.

She had already suspected as much when she’d questioned Omiros.

Even though Omiros hadn’t confessed, she could sense his unease.

Freddy nodded but then looked uncertain.
