?Chapter 1081:
“What a joke!” Nora continued, looking at Thomasina, whose face was flushed. “With Freddy, he can still keep Ellie at the top of the industry!”
Thomasina was humiliated and wanted to respond, but Nora’s higher status in the industry made her hesitate.
Others exchanged nces, taking in the scene.
Freddy’s recent actions and words were a clear show of support for Ellie! He made it clear that disrespecting Ellie would also be seen as disrespecting him.
Thomasina was the perfect example of this!
When Omiros showed up, Ellie had already gone, but he overheard Nora’sments.
He thought about it for a moment and suddenly realized what he needed to do that day!
Freddy, despite his esteemed status, was relegated to an afterthought in the seating arrangements. They managed to squeeze him in, but not beside Ellie.
Ellie was surrounded by the crew from the Peerless Grace production. Everyone knew about her blindness, so once she settled into her seat, she closed her eyes to rest.
“Ellie, did youe by yourself? Pregnant and blind, and Mr. Thorpe didn’te along?” Akira asked, her voice dripping with sarcasm as she sat next to Ellie. Ellie was about to respond when a male voice chimed in from behind her.
“What business is it of yours if her husband is here or not? Why do you care?” The voice sounded familiar, and Ellie tried to ce it.
The man continued, his tone tinged with annoyance. “Ellie, why the silence? Don’t you know how to p back? Wait, can you recognize my voice? If not, you’re in hot water!”
“I didn’t have a chance to speak yet,” Ellie replied with a resigned smile. “Edwin.” Edwin’s chin lifted in satisfaction.
He was pleased that Ellie had recognized his voice.
Edwin, a renowned independent musician and the son of the Stephens family, manded respect. With this in mind, Akira didn’t dare to retort but awkwardly turned away.
Edwin had assumed Ellie had been lying low due to her pregnancy, not realizing until now that her blindness was the true reason.
“Ellie, when you have health issues, you go to a doctor! Aren’t the specialists at our family’s hospital good enough for you?” His concern was veiled in harsh words, typical of their bickering rtionship.
Ellie, used to their sarcastic exchanges, wasn’t fazed. She reassured him, “I have seen a doctor. Once the baby is born, I’ll undergo treatment.”
Whether the treatment would work? That was another story.
Edwin’s eyes instinctively flicked to Ellie’s baby bump, the outline of her pregnant belly discernible beneath her gown.
“In your condition, how could Kaiden still pick a fight with you?” Edwin grumbled.
The people feigning interest in their phones while eavesdropping perked up even more.
Ellie responded nonchntly, “You know about our fight?”
Eyes widened around them. Wow! They really had been fighting!
Edwin scoffed. “If there wasn’t a fight between you two, why hasn’t hee to see you since he got here…”
He abruptly stopped, realizing he had said too much.
Ellie’s heart raced. Kaiden was around?! So, the gaze she had felt earlier… had it really been Kaiden’s?
