    Kaiden wouldn’t have been allowed into her hospital room.

    “You’re saying his reputation is getting a raw deal?” he said. “But he’s made you mad. Hold on a sec. Ellie, why are you sticking up for him?” Thest part sounded rehearsed, almost like he was joking.


    Ellie licked her lips as her heart raced.


    She offered an excuse. “He’s the CEO of GT Group. If his reputation takes a hit, it’ll hurt the wholepany.”


    “For thepany?” Glenn’s tone was amused.


    It was the first time Glenn had heard Ellie call him “Gle,” leaving him unable to continue teasing her.


    “Alright, alright, I’ll clear things up right away,” Glenn said with a sense of duty. “You’re right. As Mrs. Thorpe, you have a stake in GT Group. We can’t let it fall apart.”


    Ellie was left at a loss for words.

    Once Glenn ended the call, he sighed.
