?Chapter 1052:
The sky slowly began to lighten. Ellie wasn’t sure how much time had passed when she heard noiseing from outside the door.
Kaiden stepped out to see what was happening.
Upon seeing the visitors, he raised his eyebrows slightly in surprise but quickly rxed his expression.
“Glenn, Katharine, Ellie is still asleep. Would you like to wait a bit?”
Ellie sat up and said, “I’m not asleep. You cane in!”
“Ellie!”
The sound of hurried footsteps filled the room, and two familiar voices followed. Glenn and Katharine had arrived.
“Ellie, how are you feeling…” Katharine rushed to Ellie’s bedside but hesitated, her eyesnding on Ellie’s face. “Your eyes…”
Ellie couldn’t hide it any longer and admitted, “There was an ident, and I can’t see for now.”
Glenn turned to Kaiden, looking for answers.

Her eye issue wasn’t Kaiden’s fault.

Ellie opened her mouth to respond, but Kaiden cut her off.
“You’re right, Glenn. I am to me.”

“There was an ident, and now I’mpletely blind. I’ll get treated once the baby is born,” Ellie replied.
After Ellie spoke, Katharine looked at Glenn. Glenn scowled and shot a fierce look at Kaiden.
At first, Glenn’s immediate thought was that Ellie had sacrificed her sight for the unborn child, probably because of Kaiden’s suggestion. He almost lunged at Kaiden.
But then he noticed Kaiden staring at Ellie, his gaze intense and filled with a mixture of restraint and sorrow.
The room fell silent for a moment.
Ellie gently guided Katharine’s hand to her rounded belly and smiled with excitement. “The baby’s moving now.”
Katharine’s eyes filled with tears.
“Glenn?” Ellie said, realizing she hadn’t heard Glenn speak.
Glenn took a slow breath before asking, “Ellie, are you feeling okay?”
Ellie turned her head toward the sound and smiled. “Yes.”
