?Chapter 1039:
Baylee was at a loss for words. Then she recalled that he had bought the apartment next door!
“Baylee, it’s okay if you don’t want to ept me,” Marvin suddenly said.
Baylee eyed him suspiciously. Did he really mean his words? Or was he joking?
Marvin continued, “But please, don’t ept anyone else either.”
Baylee looked at Marvin with a bemused expression. Why did he think he had any say in her life? Wait, why couldn’t she ept someone else?
“You just said you’re not interested in dating or marriage. Baylee, I understand that, but if you change your mind, I’ll pursue you again,” Marvin smiled.
Kaiden instructed Cayson to watch Ellie and make sure she didn’t snack all day while he was gone. Ellie red at him.
If he wouldn’t let her eat at home, she could always go out with Baylee to eat. Besides, now that Baylee knew about her vision problem, it was good to have Baylee with her when she went out!
Ellie looked indignant. Kaiden pinched her cheek and reasoned with her. “If you want milkshakes, just ask the chef. We have milk and everything at home. It’s cleaner than stuff outside.” Ellie was at a loss for words. She didn’t want to talk about it with him.
Could milkshakes without artificial sweeteners really taste good? Come to think of it, maybe she should cut back on them…
After dinner, Ellie felt extremely sleepy.
“Don’t nap right after eating,” Kaiden urged, pulling her. “Let’s take a stroll to help your digestion.”
Ellie yawned, shaking her head stubbornly. “I just want to sleep.”
Kaiden took her hand and led her outside against her will. “We’ll walk for fifteen minutes, then you can sleep.”
Kaiden kept a hold of Ellie’s waist, guiding her whenever they needed to turn. Due to her eye condition, the gardenyout in the main house had been rearranged overnight. Ellie knew her way around and wouldn’t bump into anything.
“Kaiden, only middle-aged people worry about health. Us young folks don’t bother with walking,” Ellie remarked.
Kaiden nced at her, his tone a bit threatening. “Ellie, are you suggesting I’m…?”
“NO, not at all!”
This touchy and familiar topic made Ellie quickly shake her head. As she shook her head, she started tough. It turned out that patching things up with him was quite simple. She just needed to take a step forward, and he would embrace her, letting go of the past.
Ellie’s mood, which had been gloomy for two days, brightened up. With trusted people at Moon Manor now, she believed she could safeguard her unborn child from any idents. The problem with KY was history!
“Your phone’s ringing,” Ellie reminded him.
Kaiden assisted Ellie onto a bench, standing beside her to take the call. It was work-rted.
Ellie struggled to keep her eyes open. She listened to Kaiden’s tedious discussion about the proposal, which felt as boring as a bedtime story.
Kaiden finished the call and turned around, noticing Ellie had fallen asleep on the bench with her head tilted to one side.
“El?” Kaiden crouched down and called out to her.
