?Chapter 1027:
Concerned about her diet, Ellie promptly went to the hospital for a thorough prenatal check-up.
Upon hearing that Ellie’s baby was safe, Flossie felt a wave of relief. But seeing the frostiness on Ellie’s face made her feel uneasy once more. This issue wasn’t resolved yet.
“Miss Yount, that good-looking man came to see you again yesterday!”
The security guard halted Flossie at the neighborhood gate.
“What?”
“Just that handsome guy who drove you home yesterday!”
Flossie’s heart raced. “He… Why was he looking for me?”
“I don’t know. Why don’t you give him a call and find out?”
“Sure, thanks.”
What did Levy want with her?
Flossie was puzzled, but she decided not to reach out to Levy. Since he hadn’t called her and had left without waiting, it couldn’t be urgent.
She opened the door.
The noise of the door opening alerted Coal Ball, who dashed to the shoe cab and sat obediently. Spotting Flossie, it let out a soft bark and circled around her.
“Coal Ball, does Levy want to see you?” Flossie crouched down, patting the dog’s head.
At the mention of Levy’s name, Coal Ball took a step back and barked, “Woof, woof, woof!”
Flossie was left speechless. Why did she get the feeling that Coal Ball didn’t want to see Levy?
Later that night, Flossie was woken up by Coal Ball’s barking. She switched on the light and went into the living room. Coal Ball was standing alert, ears perked, barking at the door. Its bark was subdued andcked deterrence, as it was just a puppy.
A faint noise could be heard outside the door, sounding like someone attempting to unlock it with a key but failing repeatedly.

“Open the door! Hurry up! Open the door!”
A loud, aggressive voice from a middle-aged man echoed from outside.
Flossie instantly grew tense, hastily pulling out her phone and seeking help. When she regained herposure, her trembling fingers had already dialed a number.
“Flossie?”
Levy’s voice brought Flossie’s focus back from the door.
In shock, Flossie stared at the screen. Only then did she realize she had identally dialed Levy’s number!
“Flossie? Why aren’t you saying anything?”
“Levy, are you at home? Are you in the apartment near mine?” Flossie’s voice quivered, sounding like she was on the verge of tears.
“Yes.” Levy shut hisptop, grabbed his car keys, and hurried out of the office.
“What’s wrong? What’s happening?”
“There’s a man trying to open my door. He can’t get in, and now he’s knocking outside. He’s asking me to open the door…”
“Did you call the building manager?”
