    “I’ll be there shortly. Stop the car following me!” Baylee told Harry over the phone.


    Baylee steered her car into the Rich Bar’s parking area. The doorman halted Marvin’s vehicle at the entrance.


    “Sir, our boss won’t let you enter. If you want a drink, you’ll need to go elsewhere,” the doorman stated.


    Marvin’s expression turned grim. The Rich Bar was under Baylee’s control, so Marvin couldn’t assert his authority there. He refrained from making threats, fearing it would only anger Baylee more.


    “I’m Baylee’s boyfriend,” Marvin exined.


    Boyfriend…


    The doorman was caught off guard and quickly contacted his manager. After receiving instructions from the manager, the doorman appeared embarrassed.


    “Harry said he was trying to prevent Miss Curtis’s boyfriend from entering.”


    Baylee hurried to her private room. As soon as she closed the door, tears streamed down her face. Unable to contain the emotions she had kept inside for so long, Baylee felt her heart breaking. She leaned against the wall, sank to the floor, and cried silently, arms wrapped around her knees.


    She avoided appearing vulnerable. Even if she couldn’t hold back her tears, she managed to stifle her sobs.


    She had devoted herself to Quincy, but he had approached her with ulterior motives. It was challenging for her to muster the courage to love and embrace Marvin. Ultimately, that courage proved to be futile.

    A calm yet resolute voice sounded over the phone. No matter the circumstances, Ellie was always there to support her.


    Facing her most trusted confidant, Baylee couldn’t hold back her emotions any longer.


    “Baylee, what’s going on?” Ellie sensed something amiss in Baylee’s silence. “Where are you?”


    “At Rich Bar.”


    Kaiden felt concerned about Ellie. She had been in or nearly in fights several times while with Baylee, so he went along with her. They arrived quickly.


    At the entrance of Rich Bar, Ellie saw Marvin being held back and immediately understood why Baylee’s mood had shifted.


    “Mrs. Thorpe…”


    Marvin received a cold stare from Ellie as soon as he spoke. Walking past Marvin, Ellie instructed the doorman, “Make sure this man doesn’t enter!”


    Marvin was left speechless.


    “Don’t go in just yet,” Ellie told Kaiden.


    Baylee’s mood was off. She was too proud to show her vulnerable side to anyone else.
