?Chapter 942:
“Ma’am, this puppy’s condition is quite severe. One of its eyes is permanently blind now. The ongoing treatment costs will be high. Are you sure you want to proceed?” the vet asked Flossie.
The puppy had suffered from malnutrition for a long time and wasn’t a purebred.
The vet assumed it was a stray.
“Yes, please treat it,” Flossie nodded.
“Ma’am, do you intend to adopt this dog?” the vet continued. “Thedy who brought it in this afternoon didn’t provide its name. Would you like to give it one?”
“Please hold on a moment,” Flossie then called Levy.
“Hello.”
She had heard that familiar male voice several times during their brief rtionship. Now, hearing it again still made her heart race with uncontroble happiness. Flossie took a deep breath and cautiously asked, “Levy, about the puppy that fell on you today… I want to adopt it. Is that okay?”
“Why are you asking for my permission?” Levy inquired.
“It hurt you. What if you want to hold it ountable…”
“Well, the ones who should be held responsible for my injury are the previous owners of the puppy. It was raised by a young couple. They split up and heartlessly threw the puppy out of their apartment,” Levy exined.
In other words, since the puppy had been abandoned, Flossie could adopt it if she wanted to.
As for the young couple who threw the puppy out, Levy wasn’t interested in merepensation; they deserved legal consequences!
“Then I’ll adopt it! Thank you!” Flossie’s tone was cheerful.
Five minutester, Levy noticed a new post online. Flossie had shared a group photo of herself and a sick ck puppy receiving an IV in its cage. And she had captioned it: “Meet my new family member, Coal Ball!” Levy was left speechless.
What kind of name was that for a dog?
Lɑt??τ cнαρτ?rs ιn g??l??ov?ls.??????
Studying the photo of the ck puppy with Flossie, Levy felt a twinge of familiarity. A fleeting image of a ck dog with a young girl shed in his mind, but he couldn’t quite ce it anymore.
Ellie’s morning sickness slowly faded, and soon she returned to work. Because she was pregnant, Ellie had halved her usual workload. Major brands and star studios were eager to sign her, but few seeded, and those who did were proud to have had the opportunity to work with her.
Kaiden left work early and headed home. Ellie was in the dressing room, selecting dresses. She was examining the waist design of each dress, checking it against her growing belly. She looked exceptionally adorable.
“Are you picking out clothes to go somewhere?” Kaiden asked as he entered the room.
Noticing the sun still high in the sky, Ellie remarked, “Kaiden, you left work early again!”
Sinceing home, Kaiden had been arrivingte to the office and leaving early every day. In the past, he would leave by eight in the morning, but now he was still in bed with her at that time.
“All thanks to you, Ellie,” Kaiden said. The former workaholic now found work dull. Without Ellie, work felt pointless.
